I wrote to 2gd 2 times to give me a game for test. But he gave her to 20 pro players.
As a result, we have 3 flat maps for duels. Not enough armors. 2 of 3 maps have a terrible scheme. It will take a lot of time until they make normal maps for 1x1 and approve them. 20 PRO players could not notice this and disgraced. They tested the game for 1-2 years and made such stupid mistakes.
Brawl
It's boring to spawn with one weapon and no stack. As a result, we have a SPAWN SIMULATOR.
Congratulations to 20 professional (fucking aimers without brains) players. You are the best testers.
Its because they have not invited / paid master Sanchez to test the game.
It is so full of bugs and bad decisions in game play and coremechanics, it is very likely to die off sooner than later.
Now it has about 3k viewers / playerbase, it may peak on release around 7k-10k, and in a year or so it will die off, and people will go to their respective games.
After playing couple of wipeouts and duels I must say this game is good. But what is this game? This game is just a Quake 3/Live mod, nothing else (wolf in sheeps cloth). And since we have guys like Cypher, Strenx, K1llsen, Agent, etc...who already play this game on such high level, I fear that the game will die soon because of that (playerbase wise). Why, because no newcomer will ever be able to compete with such names and such skill. These guys (and most of us) have been playing this game for past 20 years.
Unless by some magic this game will have 20000 or even bigger playerbase and perfect matchmaking, so, newcomers will basically never ever get in touch with old schoolers, than this game might have a future. But if player base will be 1000 to 2000, it will shrink to 500 to 1000 very soon as all newcomers will leave due to big skill difference.
I love this Quake mod, gonna play it...but its future is not certain.
"Why, because no newcomer will ever be able to compete with such names and such skill. These guys (and most of us) have been playing this game for past 20 years. "
And that's why Raisy never was able to compete and had to return back to Counterstrike after a couple years of unfruitful attempts....
Oh wait, Raisy just got second in the last big tournament, and is always top 3 player.
It's not all about the experience. The same grampas keep winning because there's no playerbase to seed new talents.
If the game has success, the playerbase and new pros may come.
No he didn't. Why do you make shit up? He was a Counter Strike player (and a low tier one too), he tried that new game Quake Champions when it came out and it was everywhere, liked it, saw he could be good in it, and stuck to it.
You just typed "raisy quake live" in youtube and posted the only link that comes out. That's not Raisy, he used to play ql with a friend's account with a different name
I remember some of these videos being posted here, and people saying that this was the pro player raisy playing QL. Of course, I am not going to be able to find that video without searching for it---since it did not seem like something I would need to save. I don't save every video I encounter on this site.
There are other videos of this player too, and the flag from the stats site shows the Hungarian flag.
We definitely know he played QL on what he calls a "hobby like level"; the only question is how far he advanced there. I doubt he would have been performing badly in QL.
That is literally the only video that pops up, and it's not him.
And he only played a little bit of quake live at hobby level. But he never beat anyone of note, he didn't even have an account he was logging in into a friend's, you can ask him on stream about that.
In the comments of the last video, the uploader claims this is the raisy that "played QC Sunday Cup #7 finals vs coolleR". Different raisy?
A video that appears to be baksteen being beaten on toxicity by a player who the uploader claims is raisy playing on his friend's account "medve" (with Hungarian flag):
There is no confusion, and what's even the point of anythig you posted?
Medve is the account Raisy used to play quake live. It wasn't even his, he shared it with a friend.
Every other video you posted is useless or misleading, and nothing changes the facts i exposed above.
As i said, you can ask himself on his stream, i did and that's how i know.
But go ahead, repost that "raisy" vid for the third time, maybe this time it'll convince someone that that's the real Raisy and that he's actually beating a top player instead of some no name while waiting for de_dust to load.

But since my answer wasn't what you wanted to hear, you decided to pretend i didn't answer when in fact i did it twice.
What you dumb fucks using that pathetic defensive technique don't seem to understand, is that the messages colored in dark grey don't disappear. Oh no, they're still there. Still under the eyes of anyone who wants to read them.
So asking someone to repeat something it's written just 5 cm above is like a kid putting fingers in his hears and going "lalalala"
Still avoiding a simple yes-no question, I see. That's fine.
I did tell UNIVERSESIXHIT that I would drop this, so you will need to find someone else to insult while indulging yourself in the belief that you possess superior intelligence to everyone else.
I am quite happy for anyone to go through and read the conversation, to determine for themselves whether you in fact answered the question of whether any of those five videos contain raisy's POV.
Still squirming around trying to desperately escape being battered further, i see. You should learn to accept and admit defeat. But then again if you had any sense of decency, you wouldn't resort to 1st grade school tricks, so yeah.
Ya'll need to excuse nex1 - He's a little bit clueless when it comes to any Quake player lore.
Raisy has been in q3osp/cpma - ql for a long time. Obviously not sunken as many hours in as most of the players have done, but he was there nevertheless.
A game like quake you learn via osmosis, literally just watch demos of top players and what not and you'll understand the game on a level similar to them. (To a degree that is)
Then all you've got to do is get the mechanics aka fundamentals down.
"omg only the top players from the last 25+ years can compete against each other"
Nope, that's bullshit. EVERY new player wants instant gratification aka the dopamine rush of being able to do some shit and feel validated. Hence why games like Call of Duty, Apex legends or Fortnight are around.
You can do seemingly little and get a great reward.
Try playing Quake 1 - 2 - 3 against any player just marginally better when you're starting out. You'll get shit stomped easily.
So why don't these snowflake dumb fucks get over themselves and just let people play or do whatever they want? Cause they want to try argue some dumbass point as if they know a certain type of person better than someone else.
up there ian wrote "but raisy isn't a new face, he played quake for ages like clawz" and you answered with "No he didn't."
> he started playing quake when he was 3 years old according to his own interview (linked above by captain). Just because he never grinded it online for a long period or got succesfull doesn't turn him into a new player. he said he played vs bots for years, he played q3, he played ql, and now he plays qc.
fucking rekt mate. Ridiculous how you are still acting s'if you got nothing wrong/the "question" can't be answered differently.
ofc he doesn't have as much quake hours as cypher etc., but basically he is familiar with the game for his whole fucking life, and if you start "learning" something that early I am quite sure it does something with you. a new top-contender, but certainly not a new player.
I was watching raisy's stream from two days ago, and he mentioned that he played QL on a hobby level and had "about 2k elo". He doesn't think that was very good, but it sounds pretty good to me. : )
He only ever casually played a little bit of quake live, not q3. Fucking around while playing counter strike. And he played so little that with the same logic you can claim Cypher is a Counter Strike player and Rapha a Dota player, because they played those games more than Raisy ever played quake live.
He also played thousands of duels in QL, for at least many years, and he wasn't anything special, but that's still enough to be seen as a semi-god in QC (?)
That's already 1000 duels tracked in 3 years. Then there is also the pre-QLRanks era, the post-QLRanks era and his other accounts... As I said, nothing special in QL and thousands of duels played before QC.
How long will take a newcomer (with talent) to take on the likes of Rapha, K1llsen, Strenx, Cooller, etc.? 3-4 years...5...? In 5 years its even question will anyone actually play Diabotical. Also, Raisy plays Quake for a decade or more...
Guys, dont get me wrong, Diabotical is what QC should have been (with different looks) and I am grateful there is something to play. But, it will be really hard for 2gd to make this really work - make big and wide playerbase. Newcomers will have such small chances to succeed professionally wise mostly because old school pros are already the best on all scoreboards and game is in closed beta for 2nd weekend lol.
That's not the case, because Raisy he's one of the few (if not the only one) that switched over from other games, and he succeeded (a little more than succeeding, he's easily top 2 quake pro players while being 5 years younger than the average)
Ye, that's my point. If it was happening left and right that new players become successful in quake you wouldn't have to keep mentioning him. He's clearly the exception. Maybe if dbt won't focus on duel but maybe ctf we would see a rise of new pros. But even then I'd rather expect old ctf names coming from their graves to destroy competition.
This is definitely true, I saw killsen wiping the floor with everyone on his first try.
James basically made his own Quake3...technically it's there. Map editor is also great stuff. But now comes the hard part of innovating game modes, presentation and so on, to add on top of what Q3 had.
I've seen one minute of Kelson's stream and his aim was SICK he will rape anybody and the only way to help it is to change Eggbots into turnbased game.
If they want to attract and maintain a casual playerbase they need to not make the mistakes all the other arena shooter revivals have made:
-The main modes when any new player jumps in has to be modes no-pickup modes like wipeout, CA, etc. Do not just throw noobs the wolves in deathmatch modes like duel or FFA. That shit has no appeal to any player born after 1990. Why do people always forget that the biggest modes and servers in Quake3's height were the more casual laid back game types: RA3, freeze tag, capturestrike(3wave) etc.
-Don't focus on the 'high skill' of the game in marketing, that shit is cringe and a major turnoff. Ppl just want a fun game to play. See lawbreakers 'skilled AF bro'
You can't stop noobs from being slammed by people who have been playing Quake for 20 years, but if they have a fun and casual playlist to easily jump into they can actually enjoy the game and learn to appreciate the stuff they see on streams and tournaments where the pros are playing DM modes. That's basically how it was even in Q3's height, the people who played RA3 every day and didn't give a fuck about duel still watched tournaments on GTV.
Really? I think the constantly respawning modes are just too much intensity for most new players, and round based modes are way easier to get in and learn from
I probably don't know what new players like these days, but it doesn't seem like a lot of fun to me to repeatedly die in a few seconds of doing almost no damage and consequently have to spend most of your time watching other people play while twiddling your thumbs. :D
Yeah, I think goldrush is much more fun in that regard. But the maps just don't seem to fit the movement very well. I'm constantly over-strafing off the platforms and into the void. Maybe having non-space maps may make it less frustrating.
Outside of fragging the opponent, what else is there to do?
I think modern multiplayer games are just more interesting for most players in that regard. Even if you don't like games like Dota, OW, LoL, FN, etc... they offer much more than: find opponent, kill opponent, repeat.
Eggbot FFA is possibly the least enjoyable FFA in any Quake.
Quake World 10/10, Quake Live is great, Warsow is great, Reflox is dope, Eggbots... I don't know.
Starting weapon is not fun to use. Maybe changing it from plasma to this shitty mg would help (I know plasma is there to not rape noobs with pure aim).
Respawning with a weapon you were killed is absolutely not earned and doesn't feel right (I know it's for noobs to have something to shoot with).
Because of that red armor and megahealth are not that important.
Not a fan of having always two powerups on every map.
Maps are more open and not corridor like castle :(
Not enough health pickups on maps maybe?
And with current state of the game shotgun is absolutely too fucking good. It can deal massive damage even from medium range.
Overall it feels bland, messy and overly casual.
Yea, it sucks.
I understand that Fortnite/Overwatch supergamers are supposed to get frags, especially this early on, when the game is new and hyped, but there are simply too many crutches.
An extra startin weapon, double powerup (cant even have both at the same time), wee balls... Its a complete mess.
Unfortunately, wipeout is far superior.
It doesn't feel better than with knockback but I like the balance of it.
LG is no longer such a rape fest.
But I'd increase it a bit because it's hard to even stop someone bounced from jump pad...
I understand your perspective, but I don't think QL has cripple effect, just high knockback. My personal view is I think the knockback was too high but to get rid of it entirely doesn't feel right.
Rockets are unlagged in DBT so there's a bonus to rockets, and with the dodge it's real easy to close distance vs an LG player. LG seems to be a niche gun now instead of primary weapon. I haven't tried duel yet, though.
If you prefer rockets to LG DBT seems to be the game for you.
Don't even know what that means.
Would be good if when a player gets hit, cracks form on the top, then when they go below 30hp they have yolk spunking out the top!
Respawning with the weapon you're fragged with is pretty stupid imo...but it's still kind of fun. ffa will definitely not be a mode I play very often in this game.
