Resolution: 800 DPI
USB Rate: 125 Hz
The Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 was the first laser sensor to be included in my testing, so I was keen to find out how it stacked up against its optical rivals. The retail blurb alonside the mouse claims that it was "designed and developed by gamers for gamers". Let's find out if those gamers did a good job making this mouse.
The casing is made up of very dark grey metallic plastic alongside more matt grey sides. Instead of two buttons on the left side, this mouse has one on each side to finish the completely symmetrical design. The laser does not produce any visual light and there are also no LEDs on the body so the mouse remains entirely unlit when running. Instead of the tilting wheel from the IE4.0, the Laser Mouse 6000 sticks with a traditional wheel albeit built from a more attractive, semi-transparent rubber. Rather than Microsoft's standard 400 DPI, this mouse is rated as 800 DPI in the specs.
