EMS5 QL TDM - Playoff (128 comments)
Posted by xou @ 08:25 CST, 27 January 2010 - iMsg
Update: Yesterday was Hungary Zigi vs 4K Europe (0-2) on Holysh1t (Match details + demos).

There isn't much about the EMS5 QL TDM on ESR despite the playoffs being already started. So I thought I would make a little post about what's going on.

First of all, tonight will see the second match of the LB Round 1 played at 16:00 CDT between Europe k1ck and Hungary Zigi (bet) and the game will be streamed on Holysh1t. After that, the next planned match is the second game of the WB Round 2 opposing Belgium LLL to Sweden edv on 14:00 CST, 14 January 2010. Bet and Stream will be announced later regarding this game.

So far, Europe fnatic is the only team who made it to the WB Final which I hope will be scheduled for the weekend of the 16-17th if the teams can do that. They defeated Zigi in Round 1 (Match details + demos) and Poland FF in Round 2 (Match details + demos), both on two mappers.

Talking about FF, after a convincing first match over k1ck in WB (Match details + demos), they struggled a few days ago and suffered a noshow loss with only 3 players available against Europe 4K. That was the second walkover for 4K in the Loser Brackets after Europe xlo was removed from the cup. This was due to another noshow bringing the team to 30 penalty points in the first round of the WB against their Swedish friends from edv. 4K were put in LB after a close first match against LLL (Match details + demos), but they're now one step before the LB Final.

EMS TDM Qualifier Cup #4 VODs (31 comments)
Posted by Badb0y @ 11:00 CDT, 26 October 2009 - iMsg
Shoutcasting team Level up, United Kingdom nVc and United Kingdom Disrepute, did some live castings of the EMS Season 5-Qualifier Cups.

Because there is no GTV available and pretty much no coverage of TDM yet, they streamed games from the qualifier cup #3, and #4 on last sunday. Sometimes TDM players joining them so the comments they make should be a bit more in depth. Level Up try to have in the future more "pro" players on the castings, like they had with United Kingdom deus yesterday.

Top 4 teams of each of the 4 qualifier cups went directly to the ESL Major Series. This 4th EMS TDM Qualifier Cup it was LowLandLions, fnatic, refuse2lose and East Front. It was very late the last matches were played, fnatic won.

EMS TDM Qualifier #4 VoDs
refuse2lose vs steam, refuse2lose vs northstar, East Front vs refuse2lose, fnatic vs refuse2lose - press play, then at the bottom of that it says "on demand" > Quake > ESL > Extreme Masters

Teams in the ESL Major Series finals
So now we have the 16 teams that are going to the ESL Major Series finals! Isn΄t it great?!

The fifth season of the ESL Major Series has been announced about a week ago, including Quake Live 4v4 TDM with a pricepool of 1,000 € . After an outcry by parts of the community, the ESL is considering other gamemodes and even started an inofficial poll to get some community feedback. spoke to people inside the community to hear their opinions about it.

Is sticking with 4v4 TDM the right choice for the upcoming EMS season?
