The new CPL will do exactly what the new ESWC will do, cater to Asian E-sports and probably stick to that. It's much more profitable over there. I wouldn't blame them at all if they never did North American or European E-Sports again.

CPL died from money, WSVG from over spending from Intel, and CGS from budget issues. CPL was on its own with private investors, Intel provided funds for WSVG, and Direct TV + Other big companies for CGS. In Scott Valencia case, it could just be shitty luck three times in a row. He could of not touched a thing related to finances, and watched them go under. He could be just passionate about E-sports and want to keep working for it.

Or, he caused the demise of all three.

There were a couple interviews with prize winners where the interviewer asked whether they got their money, their comments were, "no comment" or "my contract restricts me from discussing that" which makes me think that they are indeed receiving payments or something of that nature. Else what would restrict them from saying anything in interviews?

Actually, it would be the opposite. CPL restricts people from saying if they haven't give them money or not. If someone says CPL hasn't paid them, CPL doesn't have to pay them anymore.

So, take vo0 for example. Recently he said "no comment" to getting paid by CPL. If he HAD been paid, he would of said he had gotten the money, why wouldn't he say he did?

"No comment" is just a safeguard against the players still being able to get money from CPL.

So you're saying that he thinks he'll still get his money at this point? Or at least, when the interview was written? I think if he was holding out hope it might be that he has a reason to and probably that he's receiving payments or portions of the prize.

Otherwise, I think that all the players involved would think their chances shot at getting anything and probably would be very vocal in their condemnation of CPL. There's only so long that someone can be mum on not receiving their prize money before getting upset about it.

I agree with that, but if a company or business owed me $50,000 and told me I'd eventually get it, I wouldn't say a WORD to risk that amount of money. It wouldn't be worth it.

Which fantasy law system are you quoting from? The only reason he would say "no comment" would be if there was a contract with a clause that simply restricted him from saying anything. They probably just don't want to get sued for breach of contract, not any sort of fear of no future payment.

A better question (one that they can likely answer) is one that asks them if they are under contractual obligation to not reveal the status of the payment.

I say no comment because it's none of anyone's business, especially not yours.

Assuming he has nothing to do with the failure of any of the Organizations (and even if he did), I suppose he can give very valuable input on what works or doesn't work or how things work in this industry.
