yer all these security bullshit things on my cds are a pain if i want to do a copy. mostly i just wait for someone else to rip it and download it off them using direct connect.

Since cdmage is from 2001 and not updated anymore, I suggest one should better use the one of the following image handling programs:
1. Alcohol 120 % - http://www.alcohol-software.com/
or
2. IsoBuster - http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/

i too am a great believer in alcohol.

it worked....it just took awhile.

Thanks very much for the clear steps. I play all my music on PC and this rubbish has really annoyed me, especially with Spanish records that I can't send back without a lot of trouble. I'm tempted to join just to give u helpful folks a big plus.

Can't you just play it directly on your computer, use Audacity to record the audio as it plays it, then save it in whatever format you want?

Although when I try to use that method for getting music from e.g. videos, Audacity seems to distort it and sometimes skip small sections :(
