Are there any armed 'rebels' or whatever you want to call them or are they all protesters at the moment?

From what I heard in the video, there was somebody shooting from the crowd before the army opened fire.

There is a video I saw yesterday of shooters in crowds of protesters. Last I heard police/army death toll at 60+ VS protesters at 800+. It's just one massive clusterfuck, no winners. They shouldn't have deposed the elected president it was a recipe for disaster. Maybe putting pressure on Morsi to go back to the polls would have been a better solution.

He'd probably wipe the concept of "elections" off their constitution before that.

With pressure from the army I was thinking it would be as a bit like an ultimatum, elections or coup. Obviously something had to be done as pre-coup the country was going nowhere with all the protests.

Maybe they should go down the Turkey route where the army ensures secularism. It doesn't stop an Islamic party getting into power as I think ones in at the moment but they have to keep religion out of their politics.

It always takes a while until the "culture of democracy" sinks into any people, so I guess it's an inevitable phase. The West isn't helping either, so... it can only get worse until it gets better again. :)

Been there last summer. It certainly wasn't that bad from perspective that it's a beach vacation and there is not much to travel and look at. You can't really compare vacation in Egypt/Turkey to vacation in Italy/Spain/Greece since in last people travel not to sit around at your hotel and giving no fuck unlike they do when traveling to Egypt/Turkey.

Maybe better luck next time? It really wasn't that bad, although what really matters is not the place you're at but people you're hanging with.

That's a term that I have been looking for. I think the whole notion of agnostisism is "tolerastance". If the world would be majorly establishment of atheisism I would eat a hatful of shit if there were any large population of agnostics around.
