Apparently fox and z4muz can't attend the finals so they didn't show up, that's what I heard anyway. I think fox is through with Quake tbh. But if you needed any more evidence that Quake is dead in Sweden, then here you have it. RIP.

If that's the case I think ESWC should take the last slot away from Sweden, in my opinion 3 slots were already too much especially when they invited Spart1e. They could fill the slot by inviting someone from a country with no qualifiers, like Reaper or griffin.

I don't think it would be fair to rescind anything at this point. They have both qualified now and should go compete. I agree - it's not their fault by any means, but I think it's time to re-evaluate the merits of Sweden receiving 3 spots. So fazz and madix are the current best for swe? above who exactly? ....I can't help but think that these guys will just be warmup frags for better players at a major lan, while a handful of higher skilled players from other countries will be stuck at home. I think you can no longer just say "ah Sweden. the quake powerhouse...3 spots required!"...need to start evaluating the PRESENT state of each country's community and competition. Not just think of how things used to be (fooki, z4muz, fox, tox etc) ...

USA always get more spots then they deserve but I don't see anyone complaining. But I do think you have a point, however, saying that we only deserve one spot is just ignorant, Sweden still have a stronger scene than most countries, including USA.

I agree, USA has been over-represented in the past too and I'm not thrilled when that happens either. It's simple politics - trying to balance the infinite wants of many with finite resources that they have... The real problem lies in the fact that organizers don't have a crystal ball to know the players intentions. So often they either overestimate the field of competitors (like I feel they did with Sweden this year) or underestimate the scene which makes a few really good players have to fight for one ticket (someone really good ends up staying at home). I don't have the answer to the problem but it's something that should be thought about. Wouldn't it be nice to truly be pro? An unbiased official ranking body...players that are able to commit up front, state intentions and design their schedule at the beginning of each year....sure would make planning this stuff easier. Anyway gl to fazz and madix...they'll probably prove me wrong :)
