I can't decide whether I think it looks cool or like a massive joke.

It's certainly high budget - maybe even more than Atlantis. By the descriptions of it, they seem to want to go in a direction more about character interaction, like most shows seem to be trying to do now. If it's less sci-fi, and more drama, I'll just enjoy my SG-1 box set until another spinoff comes out.

It looks like it has a much, much higher budget than Atlantis.

One of the things that always annoyed me about the TV series was the low budget. Ra from the film vs Apophis for example.

I guess I'll watch it anyway.

The budget increased over time. The end of season 7 was pretty damn epic.

Wow this kinda looks bad... it looks like a movie to be honest. I was more excited about it before I saw that.

Kinda annoyed how both the stargates ended, way too much filler towards the end... I mean the continuum movie... what the FUCK was that? They literally did a filler movie. Which was the plot of a previous episode. What the fuck.

Kinda not.. it's literally the plot from a previous episode except I think it was apophis who changed time or some shit.

SG1 should have ended at about season 8, and Atlantis just didn't have the content needed to keep it going any longer. The movies weren't so great, but I hear that there is an Atlantis movie in production, and possibly another SG1.

For a puzzle to be solveable in a computer game wouldn't the answer have need to be programmed in?

Well, unless it's like an MMO or something, and it interacts with the server somehow.

you could do it in a way that a full text answer (or equivalent) has to be given, which gets send to and checked by a human.

Might be a tad impractical but possible.

Or they could have it work by having it hooked up to the real thing remotely (assuming all inputs are known) I guess.

At any rate it sounds like a it'll be stupidly done in the show :P

I've quite liked both episodes so far.

I don't know, it just feels like a watered down Atlantis. Several things aren't adding up, and the characters are boring as hell.

It's a lot slower and perhaps they are trying to capture the fact that most people are boring, especially military people and scientists. It really feels like they wanted to do a reboot with a LOST style to the story/character development.
