take 2 evenly matched teams, remove one player from either of the teams and replace that one with a player whos lesser skilled than the others. if they started out as 50/50, they should be on worse odds now, right?
its just a way too inaccurate cause u barely can rank the quality of ones ctf play by stats. those stats dont tell a shit about individual decisions or item control. if you play tdm in ctf you would most likely be a high rank ctf player eventhough you are shit
win/loss creates a system relying on the average. im not trying to sell it as a perfect system, but its reliable enough to have somewhat balance games.
if you go at it focusing on balanced games alright i was thinking of the indivdual ranking where it ofc fails to divide aimwhores from good ctf players
The TDM ranking is based on simple map wins and map losses and doesn't take frags (or any other statistic) into account either, right?
Why shouldn't that work for CTF, too?
I made the account to play with friends, the fact I'm #1 while playing drunk is LOL!. It isn't my fault qlrankings is broken. Though I do find it amusing as fuck
We all know that every single player from the USA is a cheater so fazed_ is one. He obviously set his country as "unset" to appear legit, which makes it even worse. amidoingitright?
It's been talked about n+1 times, but there hasn't been a competent answer.
Why doesn't the QLRanks teams just delete the whole CA ranks section and shut it down?
Exactly, I wonder that myself.
The main reason is that the empire fell apart due to poor management decisions and don't get me started about the empiery thing after that.
Just like an otherwise valuable and respectable service like QLRanks is making a joke out of itself by supporting CA rankings, which make no sense what so ever.
The system is will automaticly find his right elo range after a few more matches, he just dindt play enough.
In fact the more matches you have the more likely your elo is fitting for the player.
Not the first guy to to be first after two matches either, but like the rest he will be removed.
yes but it isnt that hard to fix either. like that quake.cz stats page for tdm/ctf pickups. it doesnt count players in ranking until they have played 10 matches. stuff like that.
In fact the more matches you have the more likely your elo is fitting for the player.
I'd like to disagree here.
The whole ca elo system is broken and doesn't reflect anything at all: you can see it by yourself, comparing the w/l ratio of different players; some 65-70%players in the top 100, some 75-85% ones (with more games tracked) in the top 1000.
There are some exceptions, like v1um or ulbe, but that's it.
I won't even mention quitting to save elo, tier slumming, or just losing hundreds of points by winning games. Yes you read correctly, you lose points by winning several games in a row.
Even if I applaud the idea behind qlranks DUEL (which works nicely and that's what it really matters), I don't want to be associated with a faulty system popping numbers out of its imaginary ass; although the data/stats might be public, this doesn't mean the admins can refuse my (several) requests to be removed from the CA section.
Mind you, I've asked to be removed for the first time back in the first months it was introduced (I still have the irc logs) when I was ashamed to be displayed as #1-2 in the world in front of much better players who deserved that spot more than me.
I still am convinced that, even if my requests have always been denied, i'm legally right when I ask to be removed from a site that has nothing to do with Quake Live that simply leeches its data (which I don't remember if you have to sign up in order to be accessible or is just plainly public), and rearranges it using a retarded logarithm.
Even if it was legal (which I sincerely doubt), refusing to delete a player is so unprofessional.
