It wasn't the best episode or ending, but it was a good series overall and that's what I'll remember.

the ending was so soft, totally didnt suit whole show...

house could have died which would be good, but predictable
house could have actually changed, as he mentioned, and deal with his problems
house could have just exit the building, without changing himself [ppl dont change after all] and get miserable after wilson death...

almost endless possibilities how to make house even better...


on a side note: after few days i dont find current ending bad, it just dont copy well with the show imo

I never really followed house but I do know he uses a walking stick... how about he suddenly walked normally out the building, having faked his gammy leg all this time? That's a fucking ending... too bad it's already been done.

he could have woken up from a coma realising all seasons were a dream & hes nothing really like in the show

hell...its the final ep & the writers dont have to care about ratings for a next season; id have him fly away on a unicorn....or just end with him leaving his apartment/job on a horse in the lift/elevator

i think the ending suited well. he faked his death with a weird plan, so killed his career and gregory house, didn't face up to his responsibilities and just spents the last moments with his only friend not thinking about consequences.

imo the sentimental part of the final was just too short to catch up with moments of other episodes, since the funeral (which i found too surreal to really get it emotionally) and the time you thought he is dead was merely ~5mins.

its not like he faked in on purpose...

house still being house at the end is my problem... he didnt change, he didnt suffer... he got rewarded... i was expecting some moral, but no fuck this, lets make happy ending


And i agree the sentimental part was nice, and i love the moment when wilson decided to stop acting properly and polite, talking about real house

this was no accident.

he was talking about a plan all the time, actually to avoid jail and spent his time with wilson. the junky patient agreed to play the role of the dead body, so he overdosed for house.

they burned the building and the whole issue of house in this episode was to think about if his life is really worth taking the step of faking his death or just end it.

he won't get rewared, he will be miserable after wilson dies. think about he will never work as a doc again, just be on the run to avoid prison his whole life.

if it was made on purpose... then why the fuck for 30 minutes we see him argumenting with his subconsciousness about suicide?:>

ow, and after wilsons death, he can just go and graduate at physics to solve black holes mystery

especially when he says something like "i can change" and stands up surrounded by flames to show everyone that he is in the building, not to actually get out/get rescued.

He blew off the puzzles in medicine (what he actually enjoyed) to do something nice for Wilson. I say that's a fitting ending to show that he has changed a bit.

yeah but during last 8 seasons he always did something nice for his friend, once in a while, when he didnt think its stupid...

like almost killing him with chemo in season 8 :-)

huh? it's a good series for anyone who wants to be an irresponsible smartass, which isn't very related to being being smart.

i got lulled by his charisma. i would never watch a tv-series to become the fictional character, it's about how can i relate to certain things. but that's different for everyone, mr. troll-administrator.

selfishly doing what one wants is the same thing as 'charisma'. it's the same for everyone, and it's the same reason i liked the series too.

have to give a harsh 'no' then. the moments where the contrast of his personality took over to an extreme break was always where the series/hugh laurie's charisma shined. i just enjoy this mangled explosive character of a personality.

e: to stay on the series: take wilson and his situations where got out of his superficial beeing and showed a contrast. that's where emotions happen, not just by a single attribute of a character.

and why do you enjoy it?

and wait, did you just say that selfishly behaviour=charisma? i don't think so. hugh laurie's facial expression and physiognomy is rarely seen on tv, but it's actually the definition of a charismatic beeing(to me). i would say another actor i know who got this is benicio del toro. but that's all just personal oppinion.

your opinions are strange. hugh is absolutely nothing like house. hugh laurie is a modest dork in real life. he's a good actor though, who can act a guy that thinks he's better and powerful, and that's what charisma is. bush, for example, also had charisma.

i prefer the risk of beeing "wrong" to taking the compromise of a fixed idea. i don't think you want to be a stranger to me on this one.

beeing modest and settled down is no indication for having no charisma. point is even in interviews he always had a contagious aura. which leads to the fact that his (honest) face is a great catalysator for his charismatic abilities, if they're fictional or not.

on charisma:
we can agree that bush longed for a charismatic impression, and he obviously achieved it with his superficial and stiff expressions for the social wasteland america. no surprise here. but remember: you got it or you don't.

in #28 you basicly say that every trolldouche here has charisma, interesting and totally off. in#33 it's about self-confidence, "coolness", overestimation, etc. these are all just personal properties. even the opposites can belong to a charismatic person, these are just the ones that cry out the most. hitler and gandhi had it. there are countless examples.

As a person whose native tongue isn't English either i can tell you loud and clear and with 100 % certainty that charisma does not mean "doing things selfishly'

Charisma is the abiity to make people listen to you and perhaps even believe in you, being a good speaker, having a certain power of persuasion etc

It has absolutely nothing to do with being selfish in any way, you reallly need get a better grasp of the language before you attempt such statements

also it's not that i take demiurge's oppinion for serious. i just take his arguments to position myself on certain things. hisoutput is pretty irrelevant and fake radical. it's just fun to be the opposition on that in the same radical way, since i got the life-experience to fucking enjoy myself.

hmm, i think you both see it too much from the point of leadership in general. don't you sense some guys which, just by their appearance or anything non-verbal have a certain magic to them? without commanding anything. sure charisma is needed to lead people but it's not appearing only in situations where these mechanics could effect.

that's my fixation with house, not what he's saying so much. it's like you always have direct access to his mind just by his appearance.
