The stream better be set up perfectly (no lags) before this shit gets started or we are gonna miss a lot of games.

Please some how get VLC link for the stream or make it really fluid with no buffering bullshit.

A good thing would be to use different stream providers (ustream/justintv/livestream/etc) because net neutrality is kinda dying all over the world and some of these sites are being caped, differently, by ISPs (use repeaters or whatever it's called).
Would be nice and a sure way to get everybody happy.

its bad but ultimately its for the best~

these matches will most likely decide who finishes 1st or 2nd in their group. you want these important matches to be when both players have warmed up...not at the start of the tournament. this can also lead to issues with throwing matches e.g. round 1 = Cypher vs k1llsen...then cypher loses. we've seen what happened the last time cypher lost early & finished 2nd in his group...

youre already guaranteed either rapha or av3k fighting from 2nd place in the playoffs; if cypher is there too then players might just choose to finish 2nd too and avoid them

1v1 semis is the 1st clash

the only TDM'er to be affected is strenx :P and i think they will take full metsu+ strenx? so they could play without him on the maps that clash~

matches should go pretty smooth since theres no server arguments & a long gap before the 1st tdm rounds so the only clash should be METSU vs nerfed

You have complately no idea about tournament organization. TDM is much much more time consuming and complex than Duel. To arange duel game as an admin you have to focus on 2 players while in TDM it's 8. More players, more delays and harder communication. Especially on such huge event like Dreamhack.

Duel tournament with decent amount of matches can be done in 8h. Adequate time for TDM tournament is 2 days. Don't forget about 20min timelimit.

umm that was not really unexpected. The only thing they can do about it is to practice hard to bridge the gap as much as humanly possible over the next few days.

xt are a bit overrated. today ufx managed to beat them in esl tdm cup 2-0. and they even took a map from metsu, got pretty close score on another map and lost 3rd by quite a margin ;)

I hope somebody will be recording lots of behind the scenes video footage again like last time. I don't want to miss out on seeing the often hilarious communication that goes on between teammates on LAN (including raging and post match celebrations etc). Should be especially interesting to see/hear the communications of the few TDM teams that will likely be speaking in languages other than English.

LOL, cooller played 6 duels in last 2 weeks. He said very clearly, that because of TDM, he couldn't care less about duels at DH and predicts that he won't even pass group stage, so don't expect anything from him.

Regarding the coverage, this time around I can only supply 1 computer for 1 stream, but I'm trying to sort a 2nd one. If not then we will just have one of our guys do a remote, silent stream from home so we can cover the max amount of games.

Also, fox has agreed to cast some TDM for us, so expect some Disrepute-fox duo for some games.

why dont you let bloodywarriors stream matches that lvl^ doesnt? moppz has been casting in english & so you can cast 1 semi, moppz can cast the other & people can watch whatever game they prefer with commentary

same with the groups...you can cast the zzz that will be czm-qlr and i can try & convince moppz to cover cypher-evil

btw. tournaments like this are for public spectators and for players. So I just want to say that I don't understand why can't we see 8 games, and we have only 1 or 2? Also, before Dreamhack I was thinking that duel for 16 players with groups need to be played in 2-3 days. NOT ONE! I can't imagine that... it's gonna be worst tourney for specs :(

what is the time period of this stat collection? so coman has only played 13 practice games? Another observation is 4K is nearly unbeatable on ospdm5, so all teams gonna remove that first..stupid idea by 4k to practice 2 maps that much.

UFX has a shot at advancing....

Only losing 2-1 to metsu who beat reason? That's pretty respectable, IMO.

And like I said before what helps them out is that they are LAN experienced and all Quake pros...strenx is the only one on metsu who can say the same.

thats a stupid comment, he has been really trying to learn the map, if you see his duel games for past week or so, consists of a large number of toxicity duels with lesser players, the way you first learn a map is to play not someone super good right away, though its probably true rapha and few others are light years ahead of him on the map.
