1v1 CA is like a healthy guy using a strap-on -- why compromise when there's no reason you can't just use the real thing (AKA duel), and what sort of weird fuck are you to want to fuck yourself in the process?

you don't seem to get it right. DA (on PROPER maps) is just different than regular duel. while in regular duel you can still compensate your lack of aim/dodges by cycling the items, by controling the map to pefection, by going defensive for like 3-5mn, in DA, you just can't. In DA, if you lack some aim, if your dodging are not good enough, if you fail 1 single rail, if you miss 1 single shot, you put yourself in some REAL bad situations. In DA, cuz the maps are smaller etc, you just can't play defensive for 5mn, you have to FIGHT. If you want to win at DA, there's no secret : improve your aim, improve your dodges, learn all the details of the map so that you can get basically PERFECT positioning ALL the time. You don't have any items to control, you don't have to predict your opponent runs around the map endlessly, all you have to do is basically FIGHT. You know, DA is like MMA, but in quake. And if you think that DA is only about "omg pew pew rail in your face, pew pew 60% lg pew pew", then you don't know what you're talking about, and you're unable to understand all the details, basically you're a clueless wannabe fatal1ty.
