i presumed it'd just be a holiday, never travelled to the US before so no idea bout visa's n such for holidays.

several countries mostly from the EU have privileged visa rules with the US. So it's usually sufficiant to fill out a form foir a tourist visa on the flight. Just have to say that you are coming for "pleasure" for a short period and have return ticket.

However, that does not work for many other countries that does not work and they have to apply for a real visa, which depending on whether you do it on your own or through a company and how good your contacts are can take between some days to months.

I believe "Reisepass beantragen" in germany takes some weeks, doesn't it?

Earned several hundred hundred thousand pounds from game testing and design. And the skillset from that earned me the ability to setup my business for life. The bafta, trips to E3, working on big games.

Secondly, I'm actually high skilled in FPS/FIGHTING/DRIVING.

I'm certainly good enough to beat %99 of the community of those games and I can't say I want to invest silly time to get right to the top.

I am by far one the best and most successful overall gamers in the deepest sense.

Its just there are too many people around here with a retarded currency of success.
Some might be good at quake 3, but what options and other achievemnts do many of them have have in life?

The level of talent a club footballer has to show to get anywhere is insane.

You have millions of people all over the world trying for the same since the day they are born.

This is nowhere near the case in a computer game.
Secondly, games are a lot more predicatable than footy.

In a game like quake, everyone has the same movement, weapons, in football, easch game you come across a new opponent, outside factors like temperature, thousands in the crowd etc. So its a lot harder to read.

Its not even a comparable model.

I would rather be a small time footy player earning 500 quid a week playing for my local team than ANY pro-gamer.

What rules are out of the ordinary? I thought it was a best 2/3 double elimination tournament. The only thing out of the ordinary is the 7 man pool, which I'm sure you know a majority of them. Did you really turn down a free trip? :/

I once got a new German passport inside of three days, it was only valid for one year though. Maybe they changed the rules I dunno but you could ttry again.

Just tell them you have a plane ticket and can't find your passport / forgot that you needed one, etc.

Just to clarify some of the fatal1ty bashing: He will compete in quakelive if there's enough money floating around the lan tournys. Personally I don't think he will do as good as he thinks he's capable of with the higher competition than q4, but I think he's got more potential than any other active american(others being dahang and rapha).

Pretty lame because he just wasted about 1000s peoples time, but good cus hes sending someone whos good..

K1llsen and noctis would have been my choices. But I prefer k1llsen, since he has a family, he has a more "spectator - friendly" style and he doesn't need a coach to perform nice. Congratulations and enjoy qcon. You deserve it.

Definitely. I've enjoyed watching noctis playing on LAN myself. And I am sure his performance wouldn't be like it has been on ESL TV invitational. In fact, he passed on being sponsored :-)
