As an english man that has travelled extensively around spain for over 40 years I can saw with some confidence that Lloret de Mar's problem is not with drunken brits enjoying their 2 weeks a year away from their drone bee lifestyle... the problem with Lloret de Mar in recent years has been the enormous influx of new folk showing up from africa.

I've been here close to alicante for that past few months and have visited benidorm a few times at the weekend to watch a stand up comic or good live band and enjoyed it despite their being loud and drunken folk on the streets at midnight from germany, holland, portugal, scotland, england, some from spain, austria, lots from italy... all happily being annoying drunks

spain is fine... in 3 months here this winter i've been out of my apartment maybe a dozen times for a night out - had fun

most days i just go shopping, do some work on the pc, get a coffee somewhere local and smoke a cigarette....

not all brits/tourists/northern europeans are animals... some are

That's right, I've actually seen this being used on a LAN (Quake 3). Fun trivia is that it is the only time I've seen cheats being used in a Quake game whereas I've seen cheats in Counter-strike more times then I can count.

Without even knowing this Sombra guy I am perfectly sure that he is a good person with a just character. To upload screenshots which easily show your hacks is so much of an unconscient wish to get caught that it hurts. i spectated @ shiny topaz and noticed 100 times :)
then played with sombra 1st frienldy game, noticed, no skill player , just with autoaim (using sometimes) and wallhack, after that played more 1-2 times ( in half year) to see if he still using it, and guess, he did :))
after words in irc to him " nice played , good rail and some strange moves" , he told "yeah some ppl think that im cheating , buuuut look demo from 2001 from lan and you will see that i`m not cheating!" , man with normal brains, after these words could understand 99% that man is cheating :)

he did :) check vs fb demo @ ztn, then he jumps on RL jumpad and fb comes from shards 0.5 s was turned autoaim, later then fb jumped on ra. more in this match i didnt noticed autoaim (was eating and watching :D ), but just autoshot :) and maybe few times wh , then he jumped down to mega and shooter rocket :) (was eating :D )

Well... after reading most of the posts I'm not really sure what to say. I suposse that if you've published this and players like fox and k1llsen agree is because you really have proofs about it, but still I'm a bit shocked about it. I mean, I've seen Sombra playing in LAN a lot of times against ppl as Akiles and many good spanish players and he's never used aimbots or any kind of cheats. I'm not saying because he's a friend of mine of sth like that cos he's not but he's always beeen a fair player, a bit subborn and arrogant but not a cheater. I really hope this is a mistake, not only for Sombra but also for the comunity, if players after almost 10 years of Q3 are still able to cheat, this game would become pointless.

Besides, all those racist posts... all that prove is ignorance, so shame on you guys.

Hi! I discovered first the screens. I don't know Sombra, I don't even follow duel tourneys. I just checked the screens and realised the huge radar on it. I know it's part of OGC, because I tried it offline. First time I wasn't impressed of the cheat, I was impressed because of this situation (Someone cheating, then send the proving screens...), so I showed the reportpage to fire_bot and Legie. Anyway I'm almost sure he used this shit, if he doesn't he should show us the "real" match screens. I really hope he got them ; ). Tbh it's not the first time a "high" skilled player get caught with it. We all remember Satan :D.

I can't remember anyone in Jolt being caught by pb... but I do remember the guy 'ToNe' from clan SeX getting caught in almost exactly the same fashion as SombrA in the TDML quite a while ago.

Anyway I'll always whine about pb.. the only people I've seen it catch were clueless muppets who were obvious anyway. Cheaters who know what they're doing won't get caught by pb, and meanwhile it's causing plenty of problems for the fair player.

I can see a comparison to DRM lurking in the murky recesses of my mind, so I'll leave it there...

Now seriously, this looks a bit weird. If sombra would have cheated like that for a longer period of time, he would have learned to make sure the uploaded screenshots don't contain the wallhack and radar. And I don't think he was drunk either, since he uploaded the screenshots right after playing the match - which he would obviously not play while being drunk.

Anyways, I hope we'll get more information (as in "facts") about this issue. Just that screenshot alone isn't proof enough. Or did you at least check that the uploaders IP of these 2 screenshots was the same as sombras IP while playing?

Well i am very surprised about this but what can i say? that is not true? obviusly is not first of all because i play with picmip 3 on CPMA, second is that i am playing this game since it born attended almost all the lan events and all the top players know me due lan events so now that this game is dead do you think that i am going to use fucking cheats on a online tournament for nothing? and then send the screenshots? cmon...

For someone who has just been accused of hacking you make a really terrible argument. I'm not trying to put you down or anything, but if you are truly innocent of these accusations, you need to:

1) not make threats about legal action (makes you look like you're backed into a corner when you make wild, illogical threats)
2) provide a bit more evidence (like the real screenshots from the match???)

But if you're not innocent, just fess up to it. You'll feel better about it -- and if this is the end of your competitive Quake playing days, then at least you'll have the feeling that you owned up to it and was a man about it and didn't pretend to everyone else that you didn't because that kind of attitude will eat you alive.

Just a point about juridical things

In France for example, you do not have to prove your innocence, the police and justice have to prove themselves your guilt (it's the main difference with the US juridical system).

From my POV these 2 screens are irrelevant and are not a proof of the guilty of Sombra.

ESR needs to investigate more (track IP and so on...). Did legie received the screenshot via mail or the screens were uploaded directly on the website by Sombra (or somebody else <=> perhaps fire_bot himself ?).

you can't "compare e-mail IPs." e-mail IPs are easily forged. the headers don't tell you anything useful except for what MTA connected to your SMTP server at the _last hop_.

the headers up to that point can be changed/modified/injected rather easily. you can run your own MTA, use tor, send through an open relay, or some combination thereof.

...say that Sombra is telling the true...what about the players who have 2 computers and 2 screens and can follow the oppenent via GTV (or spec)...? that is almost impossible to discover

fox said something upward this thread..."play with pb" well that is one way to sort out a few cheaters, but i don´t think we can be 100% sure that there will be straight fights in the future not even with pb...and/or even in QL

One other thing. Someone posted here a screenshot of his Irc showing Legie asking players to send the result pics to his email. Then we see sombra saying it has been sent.

So, are people defending sombra saying than that someone got into his email account and sent the "fake" pictures to legie?

Sounds too overly complicated to me... Occam's Razor imo

Well i want to say sorry about the comment to take legal actions but this is getting so sad.

Imagine that one day you wake up and you see all these shit and the most funny is that you CANT do nothing.

After 12 years playing in lan a lot of events of course more important than these online cups (ESWC, CPL, Lan Arena, etc etc etc...) but hey i tought i want to win these very important cup going to cheat and then i will send the screens cheating XD cmon...

Yes i sent the mail to Legie, but these screenshots are not mine, there are two options or i lie or someone sent these screens or i dont know... but hey i know that you think that i lie :).

Well i cant do nothing i deleted these screenshots after sending it i only keep demos (also i have some logs asking Legie to send the demos on these group matches) but hey beeing a cheater is normal to ask people to play on PB servers when they dont want? because i asked firebot several times to do it but "laggy".

Cant say anything more, just enjoy the lie and see you in lan.

If SombrA deleted the screenshots he can still try to use a data recovery tool. Worked well for me when i deleted 500 mb of important stuff. Those two screenshots should still be there.

I once played a guy who insisted we used PB server. I thought it was odd but figured it was because I usually beat him and he wanted to be sure I wasn't cheating.

The guy destroyed me with 70% rail and 60% lg on OSP. He then denied having the demos but I later got them from his/our mate and it was just stupidly obvious.

I now realise, after rowing with him, that he wanted to have a PB server so that he could say "but there was pb, how could I cheat??"

So IMO your request to play on PB server, despite the lag, just says to me you were looking for a way to backup your "I don't cheat" arguement (in the event something should go wrong).

That you don't like the fact of being unable to 100% prove someone is cheating online doesn't make it different: you can't.

The only thing you can do is go to lans and prove yourself, and he did that.

I don't like sombra too much (in fact, I posted earlier in the thread "lmao @ sombra, and joked about him in another), but legie and others not just posting this thread (which would be the right thing to do), but ALSO being that active and interested bashing sombra make me suspicious.

But even in everyday life you can almost alway think up some conspiracy theory for every crime that a court deals with. And a lot of lawyers ordefendants do. So you can never be 100% certain a verdict is indeed correct.
So judges have to evaluate what the most probable situation was.

nah, thats obvious he used PS to save the screenshots. In first screenshots there was no PS, then he opened PS saved 1st screend and made second one, which includes ps on the desctop :) time value in tray confirms that. easy.

Sombra emailed his screenshots to legie, he confirmed this by himself, and since there were no double emails containing sombra's screenshots, the whole thing seems simple enough to me.

We all do mistakes and I believe Sombra will have the strength to admit this, because of his friends who try to defend him here in the first place.

I really, really doubt SombrA will admit anything. You would hope he would man up about it, but think about this objectively.

First off, he hacks which shows his immaturity level about playing "competitive" video games... which is a joke, to cheat in something that is meant for FUN.

Second, he threatens legal action over the internet. (ahah, ok?)

Third, all of his online friends are defending him (so he has someone to back him up so it isn't him versus the world). He doesn't feel alone and without options.

And lastly, he doesn't have to look at anyone in the eyes and say he didn't hack. He just types away on his computer, over the internet, and edit and re-edit each of his posts to sterilize them of any incriminating comments.

Edit: The only part that your entire post might help is that Sombra will probably enter a lan tourney no problem since it would be pretty impossible to get away cheating there.
