From Everglide, a company that is a well-known manufacturer of mouse pads, in rich and lavish packaging comes the Duo-surface Ricochet 2.52, a product that is aimed for pro-gamers all around the world.

In a stylish box, more suitable for a motherboard than a mouse pad, lies a protective bag with the pad inside, a certificate with your serial number and an illustrated manual! On the back of the box is a diagram that explains the major advantages and specifications of the Ricochet.

Having taken the pad out of the box, we were quite pleasantly surprised with it. Pads that we knew from Everglide had had unusual shapes in the past and were pretty thick, which did not appeal to everyone's taste. The Ricochet is an elegant pad of conventional shape, with perfect dimensions and, above all, is very thin, 2.52 mm to be exact. It comes in three different colors, black, red and white. Note that only the color of the outer rim is changeable, the surfaces remain the same - dark gray. The one we tested was a combination of black and dark gray.

Ricochet is made of thin, black plastic which is very durable and its final finish is what we had expected from Everglide, simply excellent! For everyday tasks, the plastic seems quite tough. The feature that distinguishes this pad from others is its double surface. The pad has two usable mousing surfaces, one which is coarse, fast and resembles earlier Everglide surfaces, while the other is made of much finer plastic. Each side of the pad has eight non-slip feet (in the latest revision of Ricochet, Everglide has increased the number of pad feet from four to eight per side), which provide excellent stability and traction. Thanks to its thickness of only 2.52 mm, there was no hand or wrist fatigue.

So how does this pad perform in real gaming tests? To put it simply, great. Large mousing surface, fast and elegant, and offers extraordinary precision. No matter which surface you chose, fine or grainy, the results that they offer are superb. The finer side will suit both pro-gamers and graphic designers who need great precision. The coarse side is even faster and will perfectly suit those with lower mouse sensitivity and those accustomed to surfaces with extremely low friction. During the gaming sessions, our aim was exactly where it was supposed to be, plus, we were able to switch surfaces depending on the game or situation.

A few words about pad's stability. Having increased the number of feet to eight on each side, Everglide managed to improve the stability but it's still not perfect. In some extreme cases the pad moved slightly in use, though it was slight and took some effort. We think that Everglide could have paid more attention to the quality of pad feet instead of just increasing their number.

Conclusion: The easiest way to describe it would be rhapsody in black. Stylish in design, with perfect dimensions and two mousing surfaces that you can change at any time depending on the situation, offering unquestionable quality and performance that any professional will appreciate.
