Patients with anosmia may find life less appealing. This often leads to depression. Loss of smell can be dangerous also because it hinders the detection of gas leaks, fire, and rotten food.

Well, I'm far away from being depressed but it's a bit sad I can't smell good food or perfumes.. :-(

maybe u'll become like a reverse daredevil, ur sense of sight will evolve beyond normal and u'll be able to see thru my pants and gaze with wonder upon my mighty .... spare change.

I don't believe it's something serious tbh. Though I've noticed that my memory doesn't seem to be the best, especially the long-term memory. I read there's a connection between memory and sense of smell.. weird.

Probably has to do with memory triggers. You lose one of your senses and you might not remember as well because certain scents don't remind you of memories. Happens to me sometimes.

But then again, I'm just being pseudo-knowledgeable, so feel free to ignore me (not literally please =()...

We all have vices, I went to a doctor recently and my lungs are so bad I'm only going to live to be 45. But hey, thats life, theres loads to enjoy, even in one year, having less time just means you'll enjoy it more.

You've never really struck me as a depressive person, so I think you're ok, also medical advances have made great leaps in altzhemiers and parkinsons.

I also doubt your memory is worse than mine :) And I don't (think) I have any brain diseases.

I'm not gonna say sorry, or "hope for the best" or whatever. I'll say enjoy experiancing a degenitive brain disease and have a fucking amazing time with what ever you got. And eat more mushrooms.

i have asthma but i don't really think about it or get depressed 'cause hey, life is fun.. if you know how to use it =)

afaik smell and taste are strongly related, noticed something in that direction? btw dont worry so much about it, i walk around with several things i'll probably never get rid off, my left knee sounds like breaking a stick when i put more than 60% of my weight on it among other, smaller stuff. not like you had a stroke or got cancer ;) as tyrone said: live on!
