Reminder few weeks/months ago from Mark Rein:
No new UT is planned at all and the franchise will be shelved for unkown amount of time

They gonna "reveal" sth pretty unrelevant, the hypetrain will derail again...
I want to believe also but i'm used to their pseudo announcements that turn out to be "huh" eventually.

EDIT: the best compromise and magic trick they can pull out to save the day is to mutate the 1million dolla (read that with doctor Evil voice) "make sth unreal contest" into a prize for an amateur team to develop the new UT, allowing at the end a 80-20 economic partenership for the devs and allowing them to use the copyrighted content. My best guess so far :x ....

I hope future will prove me wrong, doubt it though, sadly =( .

for now we dont really know how ue4 movement will look like. Imo ut2k4 was quite good, ut3 not.

btw. UE4 tools seems to be god damn awesome, and I got hope for some new shooters.

first of all the engine has like NOTHING TO DO with the movement system whatsoever =) ...

UT3 + dodge jump mutator is the perfect combo of movement of them all...

There is an open source version of Unreal Tournament being build on UE4 right now with Epic giving their consent (as long as it does not use any of the original assets/names). They could have referred to that.

Considering the approach they are taking with this game (100% f2p), that they are getting tons of advertising (learn from that id) and the state of 'arena' shooters, looks like the new UT could be the next 1v1 game in esports.

Well dissapointed so much by Epicgames lately, i have to say it sounded like some pretty good news.

I'm still on my guard to see what comes out of this because it kinda sounds "too good to be true" as they just explained basically what the ut communities crave since several years now...

yes, it has been the best asset from Unreal Tournament.
You dont like sth? Create a mutator and change it. That's how we do =) .
Virtually if you good enough in coding or if you know someone able to do it, you/he can create the exact game u want =) .
