Hi guys,

I've been working on a site which is mainly usefull for the gaming-community and I thought I'd give the alpa version a test run this Dreamhack!

streamoverview

Most of you will be interrested in the quake schedual which I put under the Faceit stream.

Small note is that I put all the data in myself. The streams themselves are not responsible for the content on my site. As a concequence of this I try to be fairly neutral in my describtions on the site, as I don't want to "brand" any stream a certain way.
The beta version of this site will allow streamers to place data themselves.

If some data is incorrect or if there are any bugs at all on the site then please flame at me in the comments :D.
Also feel free to share the link with anyone!

just realized it might be nice to "jump to a certain time".

The jtt only works on the "mainpage" and it takes a unix-time as input. Also added is that if the jtt < now it automatically starts to flow again.

Pretty cool dude. I have to admit I have often had problems finding schedules for streams etc. And asking in twitch chat sometimes yields no results.

Good idea. Maybe create an API and integrate into ESR :)

same here... it was even a big hassle to get the information from the DH site.... it's all scattered and unclear...

It actually occured to me that the DH-QL admins are doing by FAR the best job of keeping the community informed. (props to them :D)

The other games are completely messed up with knowing who plays what.... it seems like they get most of their information from seperate webpages which are not even (completely) game related. (reddit for example)

Indeed they are! I think its a side effect from us needing to spend a lot more time promoting quake in order to get a good amount of viewers. A SC2(/dota2/lol) tournament happens so frequently and is so popular (on twitch) that thousands of viewers just randomly stumbles upon interesting matchups.

You want quake? You need to plan/research (i.e. visit ESR) for it. You want SC2(/dota2/lol)? Go to twitch, it is probably a great match on the front page.

Not clear that the Faceit-logo is clickable to go to the Faceit stream page.
The "+/-2Hours"-buttons seem to reload/redraw the entire page and not just the schedule

Well that the + / - leads to a redraw is because I don't really know how to solve that differently :(
I kinda only know c++, c# and java (as well as some other more obscure languages ;p). Never had any classes in web-development etc.
I just missed this kind of overview so I taught myself php to make a website.
I might need to take a look at javascript / ajax to improve upon the site. But step 1 is taken in this alpha :D

If you have good ideas to make it more graphically appealing gimme a msg ;) (I am kind of clueless when it comes to graphical design hehe)

about it being ugly as hell.
I've contacted a friend of mine who went through one of those design heavy educations.
So chances are pretty high that the beta will have a nicer look&feel to it :)
It'll be a little while before the beta though as I need to update certain parts due to things I noticed during the alpha. :D

I tried to find it on the DH website but it's a god damn mess trying to find simple info on that site.

I just wanted to make sure of the actual URL, just in case something strange happened and your site wasn't popping up when the time comes.

Pretty cool site that you made, by the way!

I wasn't saying that something could go wrong with your site.

For whatever reason, sometimes I can't reach certain sites at seemingly random times, even though that 'down for just me or down for everyone' website says website X is running properly.

I think it has to do with my own routing or something. /shrug

that's actually one of the functions which is currently disabled.

I didn't want to get people to register yet because the site will be disabled for a (little) while after dreamhack. To get into the first beta stage.
Btw the first beta stage will most likely only include email reminders for the streamers themselves. As I also don't want everyone to make a login during the beta hehe...

Ah, this is great - this was a project I wanted to take on myself when I finish all the other shite I actually have to do. I wanted to make it super user friendly, but obviously you need to get the core functionality down first. Good luck with it.

Great. Once a match is finished, you could link the VODs in the timeline of the current event. That would make finding them a breeze. And yeah, after it's polished in design and uses AJAX, it's gonna be very sweet.

the vods already kinda work like that.
I can set vods for each stream / show / episode and having them come up on the relative page.
I'm not sure if I'll add all individual vods during the alpha though.
