Try using a program to customise cpu % to application etc.
I don't know of any cos I'm i7.

I give up, thought my pc would atleast be able to record some old games like gta2, syndicate wars etc but no, get about 10-20 fps when recording =(

That makes no sense. I was recording Q2/Q3/QL with Fraps on slower PC and it worked perfectly. Are you trying something silly, like recording in insanely huge resolutions or what? Anyway, problem is somewhere in software, your PC is fast enough for that.

reduce your resolution at which you play.
Scaling is your enemy (if you use normal resolutions for "ok video").

Set the ingame res the same as your prefered format for playback.

If you then still have crap fps lower the prefered format for playback ;)

WOOHOO finally got a good recording!



The only program i could find that didn't lag and just work out the box was 'ZD Soft Screen Recorder 5' its by the people who made 'Gae Recorder' which i found after looking for recording software for older PC's. Anyway maybe my PC should do the others fine but this works great!
