Deathadder buttons were pretty easy to press when I used to use it. Zowie EC range was also up there. Both meet the rest of the requirements.

I've never been able to get any of the MX5xx mice to poll stably at anything above 500Hz.

And even there, its still only roughly 450Hz.

that's going to be a lot of your problem. 500hz is generally more stable that 1khz, 9 times out of 10.

What's your fetish with 1000hz? 500 is enough...really. You truly want to have a 1 ms lower delay given the fact that even clicking is done at a considerable delay, your reaction time is around 150 ms at best, the monitor has delay, and you also ping 30 ms to the server? Is really 1ms worth all the effort?

yeah, 1k is not a good idea tbh, stay with (stable) 500hz.

Yeah. I use a very, very slick (slippery) mouse pad. Too much pressure when pressing down on mouse buttons will offset my aim.

I can litterally blow on my mouse from 30cm's distance, and it will move across the mouse pad.

Maybe some of you can recall the old Razerpad made of plastic?

I made a few MX310 frankenmice. But getting the thumb button[s] to work is a sheer nightmare. That's why I sorta gave up on frankenmicing. I'm very dependant on those thumb buttons.

Every single optical mouse in the universe has prediction otherwise 99% of us wouldn't be able to draw a line with more than 5 pixels straight.

What matters is how hard it is to get out of its boundaries when you need to.

no mouse technically needs prediction but every mouse needs it otherwise retards would just think it's faulty and would return it/ stab it in reviews and shit. Just try to draw a line with a wmo, it certainly won't be as easily straight than with a mx518 but you won't have that much trouble either.

Maybe not with a 400DPI mouse and not using a high sensi ; and it would explain why most of the recent mouses, designed to work on HD resolutions and thus having high-DPI, come with some crazy angle snapping.

That has nothing to do with Angle Snapping, that's what people like to call "prediction", but with general correction, which every sensor has to work properly.

I don't notice the angle snapping of the EC2 ingame. But that won't help you much, as there are others you do and don't like it. The DA has very slippery sides by the way. The EC has a different sort of plastic that works better in that regard.

Works wonderfully. But it has to be replaced every month or so.

I have both a DA, a DA 3.5 and a EC2. It is easier in paint to draw straight lines with the EC2. With the latest patches on the DA 3.5g and the "No Drift Control" firmware on the original DA I can not tell a difference between these two mice anymore on the pads I tested. I can't draw straight lines like I can with the EC2. Before the "No Drift Control" patch with the original DA I could draw long straight lines.

As I've mentioned previously I dislike the shape of the DA (however that is opinion and everyones may vary). I can not say that the prediction on the EC2 makes a difference for me in game, after I spent a couple of days with it. Since I believe upon immediately switching mice that it takes time to get used to the different shape (which I believe effects results in game). I play just as well as I did with the DA if not better with the EC2.

I have the XAI, EC2, DA, DA3.5g, and IMO 1.1a

You mention no laser's so the XAI is out, however I included it here since its buttons are very stiff and I agree with you I prefer softer pressing buttons than what the XAI offered. The prediction on the EC2 does seem to be less than other mice that have prediction and I can't say that after a short adjustment period I can feel it in game. Shape is all opinion, so take this with a grain of salt but in order of shape I prefer EC2, IMO, XAI, and finally DA. If the DA came in the EC2 shape this is the mouse I would use. Currently I am using the EC2 and after a short adjustment period I am quite happy. If the EC2 was $39.99 it would be my recommendation. Unfortunately it is not. With the IMO price as low as it is it is tough to beat. As long as only one thumb button is fine for you it is a great mouse for the price. Also make sure to push the USB hz for the IMO to at least 500hz it does make a difference for the IMO.

Yes, practically noone on this earth needs more than say....800. Ok, maybe some ultra ultra high sense player who plays in Full HD might, but the rest? Its just marketing for people who don't know better. I image there are a lot of idiots out there, who buy that one mouse because it has 5000 DPI and that MUST be better than the other one with just 1000!

The deathadder's you see in stores and online these days are almost always the 3.5g version with the newer sensor. The newer sensor after the firmware patches tracks almost as well as the original DA. The almost is in there because it has trouble on some surfaces that the old sensor worked fine on. I haven't found a pad that this holds for, but people who I trust have reported this on certain pads that I do not use.

Since they were not pads I use or have used I have promptly forgotten. I'll send an email to him and see if he is still having the problem, and ask exactly which pad it was.

Ikari Optical i think

as 2Shellbonus already wrote, Ikari Optical is the mouse with the softest buttons, they're pressing even when you sometimes put your mouse on the table too hard while recentering it, especially if you got a hard mousepad

The Razer Abyssus is just like the DeathAdder, only with what's (arguably) a better shape, less weight, and a cheaper price. I think you'd like it.

AND more jitter due to the inability of installing firmware updates, i got many clothpads and the only one that had low/zero jitter was the zowie G-RF, and that one doesn't even feel like a proper clothpad, it feels more like the razer mantis control with an even rougher texture.

From what it sounds like, I think OP has a hardpad, so should be fine.
