So as my avatar tells you my main race is Toss. Also I read alot on TL.net...
Anyway, why in the fuck does every bronze league player feel the need to to this voidray build in pvp?

As soon as this thread got going in close to every game I get voidray'ed...

Yes, i'm in bronze league and this my first rts that i'm playing kind of serious. Love it so far, watched alot of BW vods and followed tournaments earlier but never played it myself.

I've even encountered platinum players doing this build, and it gets trashed by regular 2gate followed by switching to blink stalkers when tech is done...

Also, all I seem to get via quickmatch ladder games is PVP games...

Any diamond players here that has ecountered this build in particular? Does it work on higher levels?

PS: love this game, and I cannot believe how lazy I was on the matter of trying it out. Quake gets boring pretty fast when you´ve played it for a couple of years, and sc2 is just what I needed!

on all levels there seems to be one dominant builds :(

sadly i experienced that on gold/dimaond more cheesy strats are used than before, kinda annoying

The thing is 4gating as a Toss is so ez, though I'm trying different variations of it and so forth. But at my level it feels like the same old, same old, all the time...

What race are you playing btw?

edit: just to put it out there I couldn't really care less about the ladder, I just want to improve my late game, seeing as that's what the game is about, not a big fan of cheesing either...

playing toss aswell
only 4gated a few time cause i find it so boring ;) playing for fun, made it from silver in beta to diamond now

not really, but i enjoy a quick robo builds that lets you scout and counter the enemy, always makes for different games (and it obv also gives you more mid-late games than early agressive builds)
forge first into fast epxo are also fun

I like doing that too, but against terrans I usually wait for my second observer to come out before I send one to their base, too scared of cloaked banshees :p

mmhm, I noticed that not many ppl get upgrades, and that's usually how I win games (note: ofc I lose as well)

at kinda what time (gametime) do you have your first obs out if I may ask?

not too sure, but it goes like this for me

9 Pylon -> scout (scouting any late is risky cause the build is vulnerable to early pushes)
13 Gateway
14 Assimilator
16 Pylon
18 Cybernetics Core
19 Assimilator
20 Robotics Facility
21/22 Stalker+Oberver

chrono on probes

but im not really a good player so i cant tell you if that build actually makes sense like that ;)

on maps with short distances i find it to be quite risky, but besides that its pretty universal
also i think its not too good in pvp

I'll try it out in YABOT (which is a graet custom map) man I´m so tired of playing almost exclusive PVP...

oh, I know this is something that don't make you a better player, but where do you lie apm wise if I may ask?
yeah, doesn't show your skill or anything, but all the pros in GSL ie has 150-200, and I know there has been some great players (or are) that has really low apm.

though having more than 50 (like me) has to make you better :)

from everything I've heard about bronze, it's full of cheese builds since it's the lowest division I guess and people aren't comfortable playing straight up.

Yep. Double edged sword really because you can't get better unless you just play straight up instead of constant cheesing

Gets a bit annoying, which I guess is why I just don't bother with SC2 anyway. Got to gold, got bored, changed from toss to zerg, couldn't be bothered
