Build quality is really bad, can't really say anything about the performance.

I'd avoid them in all honesty.

agreed, quality is bad, performance-wise it is just like every other notebook..

they are not nearly as bad as they used to be, we use a ton of them @ work.

but personally I wouldn't buy one

also anyone running q3/ql on a 4500hmd graphics? most of the ultra portables as they are called have these.

although at the moment im looking at the asus ul80vt which is between a portable and a laptop but has optimus graphics thingy so will run sc2 and ql

it should run on anything better than ion, not sure if that one qualifies

Make sure whatever laptop you get , check the noise levels.
I had one a couple of years back - great performance but the constant high pitch whine of the fan got on my nerves ....

yeah i still dont get how my college roommate not killed me for running a noisy as hell open case pc all day long
