Fnatic Picks Up QuakeLive Players (46 comments)

Today Fnatic announced that it will be adding 4 new players to its roster and sponsoring them in the QuakeCon event. The four players are:

David "deus" Kinnaird

Pierre-Emeric "link1n" Portier

Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira

Alessandro "Stermy" Avallone

Accompanying them in the CTF tournament will be

Magnus "fox" Olsson, who will still be respresenting his team LowLandLions.

Alessandro "Stermy" Avallone said:
"I'm really happy to be part of this team - Sam and I and the fnatic organization have been long time friends, competing and travelling together for different tournaments around the World. I always had a lot of respect for fnatic and having such a talented squad at Quakecon will definitely make a big impact on the tournament. I can't wait for the tournament to start!

Ive been playing some ql yeh, few months last year, then stopped, few months this year then stopped again due too busy with my personal life.

But i'm sure i'll be playing again when i get free time on my hands or when holiday hits.

Id like to think so aswell. But remember CTF is a team game..sure we can out aim anyone..but we need to gel as a team and work with each other.

With the time we have had "1 week and 4 days" we didn't pracc nearly as much as we want have liked. I know EG and eMg have played 3x as much as us...so we will find out if pracc is overrated :DDD.

Anyway we will try our best and hope to do for euroland :D.

Gonna run my flight leaves in 3 hours and 15mins from glasgow.

I predict: knocked out in the quarter finals by a USA CTF team that isn't stupid and counters every single stacked up attack link1n does each 1-2 mins of the map, with that being the only chance on a cap for the euro team.

curious if they would get further though, but I guess seeds and bracket builds will have a lot to do with it, since there aren't THAT many good CTF teams overall there.

gl and hf though, I'll be watching it.

I'm seriously thinking the lack of CTF experience shouldn't be underrated... If the opponent has a slighlty worse aim it shouldn't drastically drop their chances in a mode as complex as CTF is.

But I'll cheer for our .eu team of course!

but none of them lack ctf experience except maybe stermy? l1nkin and spart1e started in ctf and deus is a beast in both tdm and ctf.

lack of experience in 4v4 and playing togetheri would agree on though.

spartie started in freezetag with me in the beginning of 2000 :)

but that doesnt matter.

I do believe spartie in defense and link1n in the offense are the two pillars of the team that maintain the whole lineup.

But one player that has no experience in ctf on 4 is already a lot if you ask me
