Has this made it to any of you yet?

I was on holidays when it all went down so I'm only now catching the media backlash of the whole thing in Australia. Frankly, it's just incredible how socially retarded television is becomming.

The background of the story is that sixteen year old Cory threw a gigantic party in Melbourne. He used MySpace to circulate the invite if I recall correctly. Sounds great huh? Well that was until the party went pear shaped and people began to pretty much riot out onto the street and throw bricks and rocks at anything in sight. Cops, dogs and even a helicopter (lol?!) were required to put a stop to it.

Ok, so thats the story. Now I'm going to explain whats going on behind the scenes and how the media is reporting on it.

Apparently Cory has been dodging his parents and not returning home to face the music! Despite being SIXTEEN and appearing on NATIONAL NEWS, his parents still cannot go find him and beat the little shit about the head.

Now that sounds like the set up to a Simpsons episode rather anthing resembling a good story. What I don't get either is how his parents could not have possibly found him yet. He is a minor for christ sake so Channel 9 (where he appeared on our more 'high brow' but still shit account affair program) would be responsible for his safely both medically and in regards to his reputation. Therefore they must have contacted his parents on his behalf.

But nope, didn't happen so instead our airways get flooded by this really sick, and socially backward crap. When the male reporter quotes Cory's father, his words are dripping in contempt. This shit belongs in the home and even then, a home you hoped had some psychological therapy around the corner.

It's disgracful that this sort of thing is featured in the news nowadays. I'm sure you could all relate similar stories that had occured in your own countries. As I am sure this is an indication of not only the Australian medias progression but media broadcast across the world.

This was my, less, erm filtered response to the story.
