BEAT IT: Qualified players (79 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 05:42 CST, 18 November 2010 - iMsg
Poland Bogdan 'Bodzo' Mazur is not able to participate in the MSI BEAT IT Quake Live tournament at Dreamhack and he will be replaced by his team mate Poland Robert 'tox1c' Kopczynsk.

A few days ago we have been informed that Universal Soldier player Bodzo isn't able to attend Dreamhack Winter and resigned from the tournament, thus leaving an empty spot to be filled. tox1c has been an active player of almost every PLAY BEAT IT QL qualifier and placed fourth in the last chance qualifier right behind Cooller.

Also MSI have decided to further up the prize pool adding the MSI GT663 Laptop as a first place prize. We are all very excited to see the Dream Hack event unfold and we wish the best of luck to all competitors.

LAST CHANCE TO QUALIFY FOR MSI BEATIT (323 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 07:12 CDT, 27 October 2010 - iMsg
UPDATED: Postponed qualifier #2 will be hosted on Saturday, 30th with the start at 17:00 CET. This was because it clashed with the Dreamhack Qualifier, which has now been changed from 14:00 start to 13:00 CET.

As many of the players required, we have moved Qualifier #2 to Saturday, 30th of October. Seeing as there is IEM night on Wednesday and some players have to commit to their work and other non e-sports related stuff, we have met their need and postponed the qualifier.

This last qualifier will however differ from previous two as not 4 players will qualify for MSI BEAT IT QuakeLive tournament at DreamHack, but 3 slots will be available for Sweden. The reason is the confirmed invitation of Netherlands Sander "Vo0" Kaasjager, famous Quake player.

Qualifier on Saturday will be played in best-of-three format from the beginning just like the previous one. Level UP Tv will of course be there to provide stream for your viewing pleasure.

MSI BEAT IT rescheduled (32 comments)

fnatic3 FnaticMSI has issued an update regarding the MSI BEAT IT Quake Live Grand Finals in Beijing, China.

From America we could see United States of America Shane "rapha" Hendrixson qualify and from Europe we saw Germany Marcel "k1llsen" Paul taking gold. These two champions will be joined by two more players, one each from FnaticMSI And Evil Geniuses. These four players along with more champion gamers were originally supposed to go to Beijing, today we can confirm that the Quake Live championship won't happen in China, instead we will hold it in a few months, tentatively slated for DreamHack Winter in November.

This is a very unfortunate situation for us as being FnaticMSI we've always loved and supported the game through PLAY, our own CTF squad as well, clearly we have shown our solidarity for this amazing First Person Shooter, however this was situation was out of MSI's control as id Software were unavailable to help them set up a LAN tournament in China.

While we can confirm four slots for the Quake Live tournament we will be announcing the final event which we are hoping will have a bigger star studded lineup. There will be eight more slots open for players, but these will be invite only as of now. More details will be launched.

We'd also like to confirm that the prize money won't change and that along with MSI we're showing our full strength to this tournament. Just for a reminder, the total prize money will still be a massive $10,500 in cash prizes in addition to the winner getting himself a hard earned MSI GT660.
