Silent Gamers Duel Cup #3 Finished! (4 comments)
Posted by shun @ 13:56 CDT, 16 May 2010 - iMsg
The 3rd Silent Gamers Vroomfoods Cup is over, United States of AmericaRapha ultimately takes SG Cup #1 revenge over United States of AmericaDahang across 3 straight maps, and walks away with the $250 first prize.

Congratulations then to United States of AmericaRapha for taking his first Silent Gamers crown!

[ checkout the exclusive mid tourney interview with Rapha here ]

United States of AmericaDahang drives back to college today having pocketed the none too shabby consolation $100 runner up prize, gas money and chips perhaps?

CanadaFlysher storms the evening taking not only the third prize of $50, but a map off United States of AmericaDahang in a night that saw him dominate the Losers bracket at the expense of United States of Americatehnewbz, and ultimately make United States of America Dahang work to reach the final, one to watch. Well Done CanadaFlysher, hope to see you next time.

All in all a crazy evening packing two days of play into one stacked night of chaos, fantastic games, comedy casting, and a $400 prize pot.

CanadaG1Player set an early precedent for a wacky evening with not one, but two back to back comedy rage quits, then composing himself [apparently against all odds]
to progress through 3 more rounds in the losers bracket, including an epic quad overtime.
United States of AmericaDahang successfully implements the unorthodox "stairway move" on t9, a sublime United States of AmericaRapha rains the nades and United States of AmericadCoy shows United States of Americatehnewbz MH pummel defence on ZTN.
T4 once again proving it's worthwhile return to the map cycle at the expense of dm6 with a whole bunch of really really tight games and some insane railing.

Finally a special mention to United States of Americatehnewbz, for an uncompromising approach to the night, some great aggressive play, and ultimately a fine display of sportsmanship following “that timeout”.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible to compress the whole tournament into one evening, and a solid 9 hours straight casting, just a phenomenal achievement from everyone involved.

The videos will hopefully be uploaded soon for everyone to download, so check back with the site often. Silentgamers.org would like to thank everyone for participating, theplayers, the staff, and ql.tv for all their help. Stay tuned for more information on the next SG Cup, and more events from SG including our Friday Night FFA's
