Clanbase QL CTF Opencup Playoffs (25 comments)
Posted by Erk @ 18:25 CDT, 25 May 2010 - iMsg
The group stage of the Clanbase Quake Live CTF opencup has finished and the playoffs are starting this week. A total of 12 clans from 3 divisions have made it through the group stage. We're looking to add as much coverage possible on all games, so everyone can view and enjoy the matches that will take part in the playoffs. There will also be interviews with individual players from several of the clans regarding their thoughts on their upcoming games which will be posted soon, so check it out!

As you can see above, we have some interesting matches that will occur within the playoffs. Will Hungary viRus or Europe K1ck be able break the undefeated streaks of Europe LLL and Europe Broken? Who will claim first place in second and third leagues to earn themselves a promotion for next season? Tune in to find out, or as Mr. T would say I pity the fool who don't watch these games!

Laser sensors have finally matured (184 comments)

After getting my G9x and taking it for a spin, the conclusion is that the new avago laser sensor has surpassed led optical solutions. It has pretty much no negative acceleration and tracks flawlessly (firmware 1.1) across cloth pads, Icemat, S&S, Func 1030 and other pads where laser mice have been a lost cause in the past. The only mice that have similar performance in the negative acceleration department are the DA/Salmosa but both of those skip like crazy on my blue Icemat, while the G9x tracks flawlessly on that pad.

The sensor or very similar models from avago can be found in Logitech G500, Logitech G9x, Qpad 5k and Steelseries Xai. Not sure if there are any other mice that uses the same sensor. It can be recognized by 12 000 frames per second, 10.8 megapixels and 5000+dpi (useless dpi IMO as most don't need much more than 800.)
