This is what scotland's anti austerity measures will go on...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBpCEGfhqM4&t=3m55s

Don't think the rest of us will subscribe becuase if it has to happen in scotland, it will cause riots if the same concessions are not dished out to NI, wales, england, (if it isn't you'll be pariahs) which basically means you're going to drag everyone back in the red again.

Get your referendum, get out, and you'll collapse, at least half of your country do not want to leave england, half do, I make a million dollar bet there is a higher ratio of functional scots who want to stay part of UK.

All the rich people and big business will leave and you'll be in the shit because of a few nationalists.

Still, rather SNP than lib dems, but SNP only care about scotland so nobody outside will trust or like you.

No way you're going to get 50 more seats than UKIP with a 3rd of their votes and not get a load of resentment and trouble for it. Not to mention the labour nationalists will be hunting for you too.

Even if you get your referendum, at best it will be near 50/50 which means scotlan is torn down the middle whichever way you cut it.

I smell troublesome times ahead :)
too bad I love a bit of chaos and anarchy...

You don't manage the country's finance like your own personal finance. It's a mistake to think that austerity is the ideal way to bring down the country's deficit as spending is what promotes growth.

Spending promotes growth as long as you have money to spend in the first place, these anti austerity measures, make no mistake is mostly going to involve propping up people and schemes which leach way more than they give back.

SNP regardless of seats (due to a BS system) have less than 1.5 million votes.

in a country of 65 million, no one is going to risk the rest of the UK to please nationalist scots. At least half of which don't even want to be british. Let alone part of the EU.

Spending promotes growth regardless of whos money you spend (yours or borrowed), as GDP is in fact a total sum of all money spent in a country. And debt is not that big of a problem as long as you can service it. The more money is spent, the more tax you collect. Reducing deficit is of little benefit to people if that means higher taxes and losing jobs. Austerity benefits no one really. It will reduce private investments, it will result in increased unemployment which will then result in lower wages and crappier work conditions (since its easier to replace a worker when unemployment is high). To sum it up, its a complex matter and there really isnt an easy and quick solution, but radical cuts and savings policies have proven to be ineffective through out history.

"Spending promotes growth regardless of whose money you spend (yours or borrowed)"

Yep, until one day it all catches up with you and you realise you're in trouble because you've been allowing your nation to spend money it doesn't really have to spend.

Then you print more money, which in turn lowers the value of it

The UK is doing relatively well compared to most other places after a lot of management by tories, after labour gave the shop away, that;s why Tories won so many votes, labour lost so many and rightER wing parties like the SNP and UKIP replaced the dullards of leftist labour and lib fails because people had enough. UKIP voters were fucked over, its only going to drive them on and make them stronger.

Nobody is going to allow SNP to make any real changes that would take us backwards. Only people who getting excited about them are nationalist scots, who have become like black people in america, cheering for obama based purely on the fact that he's black and they thought he was going to make their lives better.

Its not going to happen, then where do they go when their own scottish leaders have failed them and they can't blame the evil tories in London!

Gonna be interesting and lots of trouble, Plus I got so much troll material for butt hurt lib dems and labour I'm gonna get RSI till October.

I dont have enough information to talk about Scottland and their financial situation, but i know a bit a bout economics. If your debt doesnt increase faster than your growth your currency is fine. Economics seem to be anyones bitch, as everyone seems to know everything about it. People recognize they know shit about medicine, physics, computers etc., but everyone is an expert when it comes to economy

devaluation is sometimes a necessity. and austerity usually targets health care and welfare systems which adds costs in the long run. social and health problems cost less for the society if they are nipped in the bud. i know it's counter intuitive, but that is just how it goes.
