fazz asked cooller on his stream if he's using a roccat mouse, cooller replied that he doesn't. Means that he's still playing with his zowie EC2 evo cl, which is good news tbh, because he managed to beat both evil and cypher with that mouse. He's in a good dynamic with his current setup, so would be bad for him to change again.

however if he can play with roccat's headphones or keyboard, or let's say even mousepad, then it's all ok because changing keyboard and mousepad (i guess he's using zowie mousepad) doesn't requier as much practice as changing mouse to get used to it. Also i'm sure you can find a roccat mousepad that feels almost exactly the same as his current zowie's one :).

so yeah, looking forward to see then with roccat headphones and/or roccat keyboard/mousepads and wishing good luck to them for quakecon ;)

if the sensor is the same and the shape very similar then yeah you can get used to it within a week+

but if shape and sensor (and if the mouse got anglesnapping etc) are different then you need A LOT of time to get back to your regular shape

That mouse looks like it's made for people with large hands. I will never understand why any tech industry would eliminate 50% of their market (females).

I doubt females represent 50% of the market (people interested in gaming mice). But in any case, having one mouse fit for large hands doesn't mean they don't have other mice fit for smaller hands. Or should they ignore people with large hands instead?

(Don't get me wrong, KPM is pretty great and I replaced my trusty Diamondback with it after years of trying shitty Zowie/Steelseries mice, which means it's the only mouse in 5+ years I recommend. Still, the plastic skates are utter shit, mouse moves like in tar.)

102 is getting beat so badly at ctf its ridiculous, the scores are like a div2 team vs div1. unless they are totally experimenting or something but I doubt it.

A mouse is a more sophisticated input device than skates or sticks. It is more comparable to a musician switching his instrument. So yea if they were forced to change all of their gear it might influence their performance. Apparently they are not so theres no problem anyway.

Why would you want a mouse with bad cord and no side buttons? Didn't make sense 10 years ago, not to mention now.

What I'd like is a short (but normal width) mouse for fingertip grip. I don't think anything like that ever existed, all the gaming mice are for claw/palm grip, with those long and wide backs :(

(my KPM included, it's also heavy and barely moves, and to think all the mice I've tried in the past 5 years were worse says a lot about the market)

I don't want mouse with bad cord hence I don't want a braided one. Heavy, bulky and makes the final product more expensive for no beneficial reason (besides being more "durable", which is not an issue if you are smarter than a cross-eyed mutant).

Best cord ever is the Diamondback 3G's. Thin, kind of rigid and ULTRA light.


If there's an extra button somewhere, the first thing I do with it is to unbound it for good.
Since I don't use more than 2 buttons + wheel like ever, for me, it's just a total waste of microswitches (which are added to the weight too) and extra (completely unjustified) bucks.

I <3 purist, ultra-lightweight mice.

Since I've migrated straight from a Diamondback 3G to a KPM, let me just say its braided cord looks thicker, but is lighter and softer (bends easier). Maybe it touches more desk area because it's less stiff than DB3G's, but it still has less drag and that's exactly because it's braided.

But for sure it can't be more durable. The braid will wear thin with time imo.

Best cable I've seen was in the E-3lue Cobra. Unusable as a mouse but oh man the cable is great! Lighter and softer than Diamondback's AND KPM's, not braided but the rubber is carved so it has the low area of contact with the desk without the added cost or lower durability. So yeah, in the end braided cables are an expensive gimmick because there's easier way to make a cable better than Diamondback's without the added cost.


Considering Apple used to use mice with only _one_ button for 20+ years, you're nowhere near a purist. You want a mouse with at least 2 extra buttons and a heavy wheel mechanism. And you're a purist? Please :)

OTOH, I can't believe anyone can even use the Internet without the side buttons in 2015. And since 5-button mice start at $4, I can't believe the extra switches add even a single buck :)

I had 18 (good) gaming-grade mouse so far (not considering the ones I had for test purposes only), including the DB 3G, as well as several mice with braided cord.
3G prevails easy. Super-light rigidness ftw.

I'm perfectly fine browsing 106 tabs (exact value, not over-exaggerating) without any extra mouse buttons. Never ever used them, never I will. And believe me, extra microswithches adds extra money (since it costs $$$ for the manufacturer and you won't get anything for free besides the air you are breathing now - but that as well will change sooner or later) and extra weight - as well as extra things to unbound.
Why would you buy a minibus if you are always traveling alone without much luggage? Just buy a GT targa. :>

I'm not so sure about that at all tbh.

CTF: it's most likely they gonna loose (possibly hard) even with 3 months of intensive play, they arent gonna backup the lack of 10years of exp that easily.

TDM: they CLEARLY have a chance to do very good but that will be the most disputed mod with duel.

Duel: Same, i dont think cooller or pavel would have a chance against rapha / dahang / cypher. If cooller plays his "best ever 100% absolute last form" then why not but the probability is unlikely, imho.

Tl;dr: They for sure gonna have some fun playing, with great competition and the chance to travel to Dallas blabla but it's not gonna be easy for them at all in any mod (tdm included) and they for sure will get a run for "their" money.

Great to see them going! Roccat Kone Pure Military is the one I settled with after buying 5 mice last year... sensor, shape and functionality is great. is small and pretty light. But would need a better grip imo. I use some glue-like grip-stuff that is meant for giving grip to hockey sticks :) not the most practical tho!

I might become roccat PR person... but i found this K1llsen comment from 2014:

please... did you fucking saw 421's dodging and rl on lan or pavel's coldblooded timing and execution? all this talk is nonsensical. 102 played together for the past year or two with that squad in this semi dead game. if anyone from russian speaking lineup could achieve the top at TDM (at least) @qc2015 - it's probably them, simply due to experience.
not to mention, that this kind of talk is very disrespectful towards 421 or pavel, who are both awesome team players and both have tons of experience in tdm. it's a team mode, individual skill of a player can't determine even remote success of the team at whole, especially when it all comes down to a serious competion on a lan.

When playing ctf pickups, cas NEVER touches flag. I mean NEVER. He just dancing around it and kill anyone who spawns.
He basically have no idea what to do besides killing enemies.

Well in general, I still don’t know why we are strong. I was hoping it is because of our teamplay, but in fact it is all because of personal skill. Let me speak about the last lineup: me, pavel_, Cooller and 421. As I said couple of questions before, I like when everybody knows where he should be in order to get the full synergy. And first of all it depends on roles. For example, we can't put 421 on the LG/RA because he is pure support. That's why the analysis begins from the definition of the roles.

In my opinion we need to have one supporter, one carry, one heavy damager and one tank. Supporter is the man who does a very specific job by helping mates on every position. He gotta know how to do it even without big stack and he should deal lots of damage with any weapon, especially with shotgun and machinegun (421). Tank is the one who knows how to play without absorbing any free damage (pavel_, coolleR). Heavy damager - the man who can deal big amount of damage for the short term and who is rushing all available items (Latrommi).
As you can see, we don’t have any carry, i.e. simple railbot. The difficulty is that 2 tanks and heavy damager don’t get along on one standard map where we have 1 red, 1 mega and 2 yellows. These roles can play with stack only. So the most difficult thing was finding the right positioning for me, pavel_ and coolleR in order to not disturb each other :D, and at the same time we needed to play like a team…

In 2 weeks we found the way we should play: on each map we have the man who is playing alone (for himself), for example shaft on Limbus, rail on Purgatory, LG/YA on Dreadful Place. And his aim is to collect all items on his road and do cycles. Then we have the “blood area” - the place with 1 major weapon like rail or LG and which is near to red. There are 2 players and they run together most of the time. Plus we have a man who connects those two positions in order to get the synergy. This strategy doesn’t work every time, but I believe it is the playstyle that helps you hit mercy limits in 10 minutes :). We do not time every item, we do not control all map, we just doing cycles through the whole map in right direction with right positioning, that's all :).

Man I've watched Latrommi play and that guy is crazy good with almost any weapon, I think he has played enough TDM to comfortably take on any role and do it well, I wouldn't be suprised if we see his role changing a couple times in one TDM, from like carry to support to damage dealer, etc.
