If you're asking if sv_fps 125 does anything in your config then the answer is no. You can however mess around with that stuff in devmap.

I had a conversation with Lorfa about this a year or two ago. He said they raised it from ~20 to 40 and it was a nice improvement. He speculates that hosting expense is why it's not at 125. Figures.

This is beyond broken, its almost unplayable!

i played only bad company 2 with this engine, and at least it was fun.
the question is, is BF4 with all the flaws still fun or not.

no its not very fun. constantly ending up in situations where its really unknown who played better, cause you both died. or just random instant deaths that are unexplainable because your client lagged too far behind or something. all of these issues, the sluggish feel of the game, also turn the gameplay around. people are more defensive because it has slown down the game i feel. ontop of the community slowly going down to cod level; people often dont play the objective or are completely oblivious to it. team balancing is just practically like shuffling in quake. what else is there... the maps have lots of dings to get stuck on, and sometimes you die for weird reasons like falling from 3 feet high in a certain place.

all in all it gives it a very random feel, so random that it limits the feeling of doing well and making a difference. after all, the lag could cause you to be dead round the next corner and you were given 0 seconds to react to it.

i hope nobody plays this in esports, nevermind putting money in and have pros play for money, its rediculous to support dice/ea in my opinion.

i loved bc2 by the way. thats the frostbite engine aswell. i did jump in about a year after launch, which by then the game was decently optimized and polished. ^^

It occurred to me that they might be doing this on purpose, or purposefully not fixing the bugs not because they don't have to, but because they think it evens the playing field.

If due to bugs and other crap, one player has a harder time exercising an advantage over another, then the game is effectively dumbed down. So, players who suck don't have to worry so much about getting pwned.

They don't want an esports platform, they just want newbs to enjoy random free for all insanity and to keep buying their games. Genuine competition is not something they're interested in trying to sell since for casual players it's only fun when they win, or lose with a ton of plausible excuses.

I mean really, some of these "bugs" seem overly easy to fix, so easy in fact that they come off as deliberate design decisions.

There are some between values allowed, like 111, and 333 that are close enough and so are allowed so this is not a full list.

It has a max of 125 in QL though, possibly to prevent physics issues.

Going from 40 to 50 would be a consideration, but probably not worth it for the extra 5 ms.

I'm concerned that if we were to switch to say 125 somehow, that the game might be broken due to sky rocketing accuracy numbers. It's a lot easier to aim with 125, and I'm just not sure it would still be the game we know and love. I could be wrong, Shrug. It's extremely unlikely to happen.

I know quakeworld uses sv_fps 77, but it's a totally different engine with a different netcode that probably uses much less bandwidth.

When antilag is used the server notes how much the attacker's view of the enemy was lagged and uses an "old" hitbox. This means that regardless of the ping the attacker can aim directly at the enemy he sees on his screen.

Antilag is a server side feature that compensates for lag when players are shooting with instant hit weapons (SG, SGG, LG). Other weapons are not affected, movement or anything else is not affected.

Knowing its hitscan only, theres still some heavy lag on rail, and I wont even bother describing what LG looks like with truelightning 0 on 60-80ping..

What does that have to do with anti-lag. You would use tlg 1 to test something like that, not 0.

Not saying the netcode is perfect, but it most definitely takes advantage of "anti-lag".

A game without antilag is absurdly laggy, almost no matter your connection.
