you can only change res and a few mouse settings ingame and that's about it. lol. there is a software out there called OpenSauce. look for that. that will allow you to change FOV/change gun model position. unfortunately thats about it. (I wouldn't recommend removing gunmodel all together because you have a reload mechanic for which u actually need to see the gun physically reload itself before u can start shooting again, where as in quake its just scoot and shoot and no reloading)

there's actually a small community that still plays it in the US. and im a part of that. As for tricks for gameplay, pistol = op. so always have one on you. fastest way to kill someone, 3 shot kill. generally first two can hit the person in the body, but the last should be a headshot. spawns are not instant (like in quake), they're timed, generally 10sec. if you betray someone, there's a +5 second penalty for it. next time u die. Also, there's a huge glitch in Halo 1 PC/CE known as the "backpack reload". you hit R (reload) twice, switch to another gun (hit tab), and then wait 1-2 sec max, and return back to your original weapon and it'll be reloaded for you. lots of other things hahaha.

Nvidia camouflage looks like this (not thick and glossy like they portray on the Xbox and ATI video cards). Also, there is no demo system, so anything you record, can only be done through 3rd party programs.

as for what person under me said, yes you can double melee, idk what bxr was. you have melee, then nade and melee again at the same time. it has a sudden timing to it, which u can learn pretty fast.

A friend told me about the backpack reload, double melee, invulnerability when OS is charging and a camo trick.. Not sure they all work on PC, don't really have a way to test without dicking around with someone online.

Also got a wee app to change FOV.. Said it didn't work, but went into Halo and t'was grand. Can't find any sort of a mod/tool to force model colours but I'll live haha.

The more I make it like/compare it to Quake, the easier it is.

just use pistol & sniper you'll own em!

edit: btw the netcode is pretty bad, i know you're playing on lan but even on lan i think you need to aim slightly in front of where the target is moving.

right, so u can imagine if you set them off correctly, you can get double spawning os's in 2v2s. same for camouflage

are you sure? the times are map dependent and picking up the item doesn't change the timing.For example, if the sniper has a 30 second respawn but you don't pick it up until 29secs after it spawned, another one will spawn in 1 second.

I went to Chill Out and the tested with the scope first, and it was spawning every 30s, page says 1m. \o/

well they are accurate except after 8 minutes, there is a +1 second delay on everything (weapons/powerups)

I've been playing halo CE for a few days, just realised that you have to lead with all hitscan proportianally to your ping.

Apparently there's also bullet magnetism and doing a melee right when your clip goes in during reload speeds it up.

I'll take that as positive reinforcement, "you'll own, em!" rather than "you'll own 'em", haha. Aye I know pistols and nades are gdlk, and snipers are fun as shit anyway so I'll be abusing that shit.

As for netcode.. tempted to try and get them to use that 'no lead' mod, should help.

add -console to target directory and then bring up console in-game "~" and type mouse_acceleration 0

that doesn't remove the accel.

I managed to get rid of it a couple years ago (forgot how) but when I did, I noticed the view would keep pushing into a certain position while driving vehicles. Is there a fix for this?
