I'm sure that will make up for choking 4-0 in the grand finals and losing a 125k game of painkiller! (Not attacking Vo0 just putting into perspective how the situation is)

Nothing like an injection of reality to into the minds of those random, aliased scrotes that drift around ESR stuck between a daze of inescapable game addiction, long term unemployment and looming mental health issues of which they try to escape by trying to chip at the icons of gaming who made them feel even more worthless than they know they are.

Hehe, enjoy your day losers.

Have some of you gaming mopes ever considered reading what I am replying to, instead of bypassing it and focusing on my reply because I have installed some kind of inescapable truth that deep down many of you find yourself irritated by that exceeds anything you can discuss on ESR?

I was simply putting into perspective of the stpuidty of that losers mindset.

Also where were you to defend fatal1ty when one of your fellow gaming dorks choose to behave underhand for the purposes of humiliating someone who had done nothing wrong.

Where were you to defend Fatal1ty after one of your gaming peers suggested aliasing and trying to humiliate the guy in the process using underhand methods (how eastern european BTW)

Funny how so many of you are willing to overlook the initial crimes on this forum, but all of sudden have a conscious if it involves me?

I would have said the same thing whoever the player was.

This from the guy who suggested someone should alias and TRY and beat someone at a videogame under sly circumstances FOR WHAT REASON?

"you're angry at people who made a dime from gaming"
"You're angry gaming made you this thing you are"

I could keep hitting the nail on the head, but I think I'm, confident the gist of my point has long been correct about you and people like you.

If your behavioural issues were able to see the wrongs of its initial doings, I expect anyone who interacts with you would appear less "bitter".

Not sure its necessarily tier slumming. He likes to play FFA and almost every NA FFA server consists of all tier 1-2 players. If a tier 4/5 player wants to play FFA, it would result in 'tier slumming' no matter what populated server they join.

hi Vo0

say what soundhardware do you use ?

i downloaded the stream and watched it with AKG K272HD headphones, there is some white noise on your stream when you raise the level of input/mic or something ...

i also remember not hearing the hitsounds for LG on ZTN once !
it was the day when you said "iam done iam tired"

... and you did not hear the 50health pop up behind you ... ingame 5:25 ZTN

If you watched yesterday, I had some hardware issues. QLPrism kept crashing and my sound drivers were broken, both should be fixed. About the LG hitsounds, I'm playing without them.
The problem is however, that I play with volume fairly loud, and I talk kind of silently. If I boost microphone volume then it increases static a little. If I could artificially lower the stream ingame volume while keeping my actual ingame volume high, I would not have to increase the microphone volume and thus reduce the noise.

Not choking at an event is what separates champions from runners up.
And its a valid skill you seem happy to COMPLETELY overlook.

At that point in time vo0 and fat were capable of beating each other easily.

Vo0 won more stops because he was better at the start, and the PK gameplay suited his style of play from day one, unlike Fatal1ty who was playing catchup for a long time on that game but came good in the last few months of the tour.

not being stupid as jamerio is also a valid skill.

voo won more lans, he did earn more money from pk = he was better player. fat won grand final. thats it.

killsen also won some lan in ql, in the times of rapha regime, but he isnt better player skillwise[eventho he owns]

by came good you understand win in singapore, and smelling voo's ass for other cups? not to mention taking only 5th spot in Chile? totally catching up.

"voo won more lans, he did earn more money from pk = he was better player. fat won grand final. thats it."

1. Fatal1ty Johnathan Wendel $240,550.00
2. Vo0 Sander Kaasjager $230,500.00
3. stermy Alessandro Avallone $118,800.00
4. ZyZ Benjamin Bohrmann $106,950.00
5. Ztrider Alex Ingarv $73,500.00

Vo0 won more lans because the game was naturally better suited to his base style of play from his CPM days and only had 12 months of spotlight. That's just natural luck that came Sanders way. If the game was Doom 3 as originally intended, vo0 would have made less than $10,000 and Fat would have still made Over 100k.

In Chile Vo0 also came third. So fat coming 5th is no big deal.
In the last 8 events FAT placed.

1st (Grand Finals)
5th
2nd
1st
2nd
1st
2nd
2nd

That is what I meant about coming good.

Was it good for you too?

The MVP award might put Vo0 in front of grand earnings (which I am not even sure was paid out cos there was apparently a lot of money not paid which certain players seem reluctant to talk about), but like I said, Vo0 had a natural advantage with PK that Fat did not so it means little to me as that data was based on a short period of time. The data shows fats progress in the game was going upwards apart from a spike towards the end (where even vo0 came third).

We're talking about whose best, they were both as good as each other towards the end, the difference is, Fat came into PK with a huge disadvantage. Vo0 came into PK with a huge advantage.

If you have two 17 year old sprinters, one of whom is running a 10.1 after 10 years of training, and one of whom is running 10.2 with 6 months of training, the chances are, the "loser" is the best person despite what the data shows. That is the person who has the most ability. The other one just had more advantage.

The original WT game was supposed to be Doom 3, had that been the case, I think we all know Vo0 would not have gotten as close to fat, as fat did to him when the roles were reversed.

So for me Fat was the best player based on the closeness of earnings, winning the final and really coming into a game that went against the grain of who he was as a player.

"yeah now add 20 grands voo got for MVP award, BAM, who did earn more $$$ again?"

Like I said, Vo0 had a massive advantage coming into PK over fat and most of the other players as he was well known in CPMA which is fast paced, movement based game play which is what is what PK was heavily based on.

We all knew fat was playing catchup, the fact that he caught up within a year and won the finals and more money excluding some bonus payment that was Vo0's from day one is by large unimportant to anyone who understands the full consequences of the argument of who is better.

Yes there is. Because your whole argument of Vo0 earning more money rests soley on a bonus payment he got for being better at something.

At something you refuse to acknowledge was a very niche game that was in fact the ONLY commerical made game that would have afforded vo0 that advantage.

You're looking at things through short sighted glasses.

my whole argument is based on voo raping fat ass during 12 months, and one unlucky game, which he lost. but i forgot according to you, 1 game clearly shows whos got more skill, and one year domination is just luck.

BUT MAN, LETS BLAME SHAQ FOR BEING BEST CENTER EVER, BECAUSE HE WAS ONE BIG MOFO. TOTALLY NOT FAIR!!!

we do things we have predispositions to do. voo played cpm -> played pk -> used his experience -> was best player ever, with most titles, and most money earned from the game.

"Rapha has won more titles and more money in quakelive than anyone.
He is the best."

Yes, but vo0 only won more money based on >>bonus<< payment related to circumstances which were naturally in his favour.

Also, I'm pretty sure most people would rather win a Major title than an array of smaller ones. Most of which were not even covered or viewed by more than a few hundred people via a laggy stream.
You telling me a 50k purse in turkey watched by a few hundred via laggy stream is the same as a 250k purse in new york which was on TV? I think not.

That bonus payment was due to number of wins over 12 months.
It assumed the win of each event was equally important as the other, I can assure you, vo0 would have traded many CPL stop wins to win the grand finals in new york, just as any tennis player will trade rankings for major titles. Its the major titles people remember, not how many weeks they were deemed as number one for based on small, and by large oncovered events.

That that bonus payment treated every stop the same (which they were not).
That the bonus payment was based on less than 12 months of play where vo0 had an initial advantage based on the niche game type.
That the game was the only commercial game in the world that suited vo0.

You would rather reward someone based on flawed purposes.
I wouldn't.

blah blah blah, same old nonsense talk, lets blame hunchbacked ppl for having normal kids blah blah blah

dont talk about tennis - you have no idea about that sport.

there are 4 grand slams in year. not one. end of your argument, my ow my, that was fast.

12 months > 1 game!

ps. if the one milion prize pool was divided equally on every lan in the tour, fat would be far behind voo. but luckly for him it wasnt, and he won against best player. fluke, nothing more.

"there are 4 grand slams in year. not one. end of your argument, my ow my, that was fast."

But there was only 1 Major in the CPL Painkiller WT and FAT won it, in fact, given the prize purse was 250k vs to 50k of the other stops, it would not be unfair to say the final was 5 times as big as the other WINS you keep focusing on. In which case, it would probably push FAT ahead, as shown by the money earned, excluding the flawed logic behind the bonus award. End of your arguement, you're right, that was fast.

12 months > 1 game!

"ps. if the one milion prize pool was divided equally on every lan in the tour, fat would be far behind voo. but luckly for him it wasnt, and he won against best player. fluke, nothing more."

Its not uncommon to leave the biggest prize purse for the biggest events.
It was no fluke FAT won the final, its due to him being more expereienced in those high level situations. Most of the other stops were uncovered events followed by a few hundred people on the stream, the finals were many times more demanding than those other stops you keep trying to make a big deal out of.

Like I said, there is reason the finals had 250k instead of 50k.
They required the players to play under professional circumstances, the other stops were VERY low level affairs.

Any pro in anything will tell you performing at the events that really counts is what really matters.

so basiclly, bigger prize money, means you need more skill to win it? OK CHAMP

lets gather all the bullshit you said:

- fat bestest pk player because he won one match,
- voo lucky because cpl used pk, not d3[in which fat would be owned by rocketboy],
- 1game is more important than 12 months of domination,
- you're ignoring your own words about rapha,
- bigger prize = more skills needed to win.

you're passing human limits in being stupid.

"cpl gave voo the title of pk champion. It's not a conjecture."

Vo0 only won that award because...

A) The importance of the events were not factored in, clearly an event with a 250k purse is arguably worth more than one with a 50k purse.
But it was regarded the same. 5 times the purse, why not 5 times the points?

B) Vo0 had a big advantage going into the start of the CPL WT as FAT did at the final (fat was always playing catchup).
Vo0 probably lost the final because the environment was simply beyond anything he had played in before. FAT won it because even if< he was a worse player, his experience of that environment was already well versed.

Both<< players suffered and excelled on prior expereince, the only difference is, the MVP award suited vo0's circumstances more than fat.

Although I agree with 'quake is potat' (and my earlier point): Jamerio seems a little off and not as 'coherent'(potat's word) as usual in sustaining his strike and picking opportunities to bite :)

Back on point, I second mouse* in recommending Vo0's stream. His play is very instructional and at moments, entertaining in that quick-witted Sander fashion.

In this stream Vo0 plays a few with NA Faceit teen phenomenon Apparition. I laughed when Apparition complained about losing(by 7 frags) despite only doing 100 less net dmg. I guess the more important stat App overlooked -- item control -- and Vo0's audible timing and sick item control shows how little overall dmg means[except in Cypher's case].

Although Vo0 does enjoy a well-earned luxury of near-flawless movement, directional awareness and second-nature battle instincts -- to free up his brain cycles to almost completely focus on item timing. Fair to say his ql duel streams are basically running item-timed routes with a little fighting in between. Vo0con2013!

The skill level required to play cpm isn't really high once you developed certain mechanical skills such as the tricky movement but there are some players who push it to the limit... I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... flickshots on aerowalk while stairjumping, mindblowing item control, showtime midairs, just play more promode

i agree, it's not the most difficult thing out there, but if you're only average/okay at q3/ql, it's probably going to be too overwhelming for you.

It didn't catch on because the casuals refused to come over, lack of quality maps, and lack of $upport.

nobody plays it today because ql is so much easier to setup and because ql has developer support.

cpm is extremely different than q3/ql, almost polar opposites
you can't prove one is better than the other, it all comes down to preference. anyways, there's only one way to find out which you prefer, and that's to try them both out.

*cpm 1v1 = 40% movement 30% aim 30%position
ql 1v1 = 45% position 45% aim %10 movement(tdm/ctf will have different percentages in each game)

generally speaking
cpm=+for
ql=+back

*numbers pulled out of my ass, but i believe they're not far off from the truth.

gaiia got those shots off because he used smart positioning, mind games, and some cpma mechanics(quickfire bind/no footsteps).
it's not too difficult to pull off certain rail combos in cpma, but to be as proficient at them as gaiia/hal9000 are is very difficult.
if you don't believe me, you can always msg them on irc and ask them for a game.

very profound analysis with all those philosophical digressions this early morning, very peculiar insight. The cam on you guys make the experience that match better, i could really feel the poetic majesty of the moment by your expressions.

I'll never look at drunken dm17 only rockets with the same eyes. Laughed my ass off.

The first game i saw was soooo fun too :D, some Cure vs Carnage.

Quality stream, followed, and I suggest you nerds to do it too.
