Yes, it is the internet, and yes, having thick skin is advisable in general when dealing with people, especially on the internet, but the disparity in the mode of interaction people engage in real life and online never ceases to amaze me.

well in real life people are usually more polite because they don't want to get beat up or worse....or get a bad rep and be shunned. Since in real life you can't make a new account to save face..haha

but trashtalking is part of the game i feel. As long as it doesn't get too personal. I mean in a highly competitive game its pretty normal.

muhammad ali was the greatest trashtalker of all time. which is why hes sometimes so controversial. He might not have won as many fights if they taped his mouth closed....haha.

Zero4 is a good example of a classic trashtalker. The two dudes in the OP are good examples of people who have a massive amount of frustration built up inside them and use the game as a focus for all that negative energy.

But i will say ql is way way way more respectable then q3, and even better then some other games out there.

(in q3 not only would they curse me with sexual and racial slurs....they would hack my cfg or pc....real talk)

I started playing some duel lately and I've experienced the exact same thing. I always love it when they call you shit or bad etc, clearly they don't realise that the implication of what they say is that they themselves are extremely bad for losing to you if that logic follows. Good times :D. It doesn't annoy me though, I try to have fun with it, I guess it's kinda standard.
