Its boring

It's the best TV show ever made, mostly due to the infuckingcredible writing, sheer depth of the plot from start to finish, and no bullshit directing. The critiques against it are usually from dumbass motherfuckers who say shit like omg its boring and then they go praise about how Transformers 53 was the best shit ever because of all the action scenes and hot gurllz.

If you would have to pick one season as the best, which one would that be?

you should probably start with the first season to get the character empathy, main story and the side storys. its built on each other, is connected, you need the red line. otherwise it just dont kick i think. cops, gangsters, politicans, streetkids do appear in all seasons and grow. i dont like the harbour gangsters so much but you cant skip it because some side storys will show up.

Actually, i found the second season most compelling. Something about the dynamics between the really relatable Sobotkas and how ruthless and yet strangely reasonable The Greek and his crew was stroke a chord with me.

However, i'd say all of them are worth seeing sequentially. The characters are always the main drive behind the show, and their development is what kept me watching like an obsessed nutter towards the very last episode.

its clever how it touches topics. there are many perspectives in it, city and cop politics, different cops, drug lords, streetseller kids, killers. its interesting how they interact over time with each other. i know it sounds silly but it works here. the show starts slowly, it could suck you into at some point. great acting and some great characters in it, it all makes sense, some of these characters are now popculture (i guess), Bunk the detective, Snoop the female killer, Omar with an own moral codex, criminal mastermind Stringer Bell that does some godfather chess. the McNulty character is a bit overacting, but hey hes a drunk and broken. the first 3 seasons i give it a 8 of 10 on imdb scala. but you watch the others because you want to know what happend to all the characters.

dont believe the hype. the show has its moments. of course there is some lenght in it. character detail need some time.

everybody thought that a follow series of the maker (called treme) would be good as the wire. it wasnt, but i liked the jazz music in it. location new orleans after the flood, happieness and darkness are only a tiny bit far away. it is different from the wire. john goodmann character does kill himself (wtf), what show does that. respect.
