I'm currently playing Starcraft 2 and TF2 a lot, my rig has power to spare so framerates are always smooth.

Gear is:

Qpad MK-50 with MX-Brown switches (No problems with this, perfect for me)
Logitech G9X. All the normal tweaks done to remove mouse accel. set to 2300DPI with 1:1 pixel mapping (I rarely use the adjustable DPI, and NEVER use it in games)
Steelseries SP mousepad.

My problem (Such as it is) is that occasionally it bugs me that moving the mouse requires overcoming a small amount of stiction before movement actually happens. It makes some of the smaller, more precise movements difficult because the mouse will grab, and by the time it moves, I'm applying just a little too much force and it will slightly overshoot the mark.

I've tried hyperglide skates on my old Logitech G5, but I haven't replaced the G9X skates yet. Partially because it seems silly, but also because the skates on my G5 immediately before I replaced the mouse did the same thing.

What I'm wondering is, is the mousepad possibly the issue? I'd like to be able to move the mouse without having to overcome early friction.
