I actually also said before hand vs a couple of players that the only way I'd not win this zotac is if I had to play a high ping russian or strenx would manage to beat me.
Cuz I actually had time to play today so I was rather well rested + focussed etc... and actually I was fairly happy about the level of my game(s) earlier on the day.

just be more patient and u will win easy. ql netcode is random and crap when there is big ping diff. I play with relative high ping (60-70) and when I play vs low pingers (<30) , I have a really hard time hitting them. Because some ppl, low pingers like u, whined that they hit less as well, it came to my mind that big ping difference has probably a negative impact to both players. Therefore, they aim worse and you aim worse, but they handle it better. If u could hold ur rage and have some patience, you could probably achieve better results. I used to rage a lot (still do sometimes) when many of my legitimate shots do not register. It is not good and has a big negative impact in ur game. From your ping whine, I can tell u rage as well. Sort this out and u will do much better.

OR if you think it is THAT bad, play them in their countries' servers and be the one with the high ping. But tbh deep down you know that low ping is better. Maybe, not as much as q3, but still counts a lot.

I believe that it is a design flaw which can be (easily) fixed. And I've pointed this out almost 2 years ago to ID and I keep pointing it out untill they fix it.

Other people just don't notice it or they accept that it's crap.

I find it retarded that the game mechanics change because his ping is higher.

I can live with it that if my ping is high the game would fuck up for me. But then at least the game is constantly based on something which 'is due to myself' and I can get used to it.
I cannot get used to 4 different games on 1 day. Because quake on high ping is a different game from quake on low ping, same with if your nmy has a high ping it's different for you as it is on a low ping.
(1 low vs low, 2 low vs high, 3 high vs low and 4 high vs high... and then theres even mid...)

Although I'd rather play with low ping than have my enemy use it.... I'd still play only at around 70% of what I'm able to do because it feels so different.
Versus pavel however I couldn't hit anything and I couldn't dodge anything.... The rest of the game I outplayed him completely... My timing was way better I outpossitioned him constantly (except in spawn rape situations).... But I couldn't land a single normal shot.

Quakelive has the best netcode of any game to date.

Top 100 qlranks is irrelevant in many cases anyway, wouldn't count on that anyhow. Too many one mappers, few cheaters as well, bunch of guys you never seen or heard of - russians mostly.

And unknown/random players don't make tournaments any more interesting.

What happened? I watched one map of strenx pavel and then pavel disappeared and the people commenting in chat said stuff about being tired of pavel's behavior and stuff like that. What happened? Did pavel lose a map and then just quit? Is that something he's been doing a lot lately or what? People are giving me the impression this isn't the first time he's done it. Someone give me the full scoop.

I cant blame pavel, its really annoying to play world's best aimwhore with 100 ping, I would probably be behaving exactly like him in his situation.

How can you even play ql with 100 ping

:DDD In Warsow it's playable even with 150ping. Lo (the strongest american wsw player) had showed it a few times by reaching top places in European cups.

I can now wake up sundays at 8pm knowing I missed fuck all.

etc: I play pavel 1/2 , my ping in ru 40 his 10. He owns me (he wins not becose of ping different, but becose he is a bit better + ping helps him). Then he plays strenx with 100 ms vs 40 and get's raped. But if I play strenx in europe with 40 vs 40 ping, I have chance to take a map and maybe have good fight in few close maps (even I am a little weaker then pavel, but with better ping in europe ).. So I would prefer play pavel in EU server his 100 ms vs mine 40 ms, it's looks not fair, but it's MORE CORRECT.. :/ IT'S JUST EXAMPLE... I had few such situations with ASH_ , best part, that he is good guy...

Really though I just rewatched the vid of me vs pavel..... I'm right at so many levels that it makes me sick.

But theres 1 thing that I cannot believe.... is how people who are on the server don't see how insanely far his rails are off while they still hit.... Spec mode in ql is MORE accurate than what the players see... because for me my possition also gets extrapolated... (aka I'd have an extra 20ms or so (ping dependent variable) more on my screen to dodge a rail / not get hit by lg / fall down on time etc..

But even in spec he's hitting me halfway of dropping down to rail... While I'm already (drawn) as standing on the rail clearly dodging the rail with my strafe.

Imo anyone with eyes can see that this is bugged as hell and needs to be fixed.

And I'm not actually raging about this what a lot of people might say. I never felt any anger / rage / un-focussed-ness during the game at all... although the way stuff gets drawn so puts me out of my comfort zone it's insane... so I missjudge his hp like half of the time.

Except maybe that ingame I say somewhere that if his connection is good I'd rape him... and that might have been a bit over ambitious because he might up his play when he has to. The way he was playing however was kind of below average (for his standards).

Most professional players also note that lg has gotten way more powerfull in online games (compared to lan). They just (imo) don't see why that is the case.

But most do notice that their opponents lg feels different when the nmy is on a different ping... go figure. ;)

I say that playing the same opponent on different pings makes the game feel completely different to you because of how it is drawn.

This then leads to different playstyles.

And the best play style for 'high ping people' is to just always use lg and only focus on hitting. Because that is how you abuse the fact that it gets badly drawn on the (low ping) other side.

Also, if it's so utterly retarded as you claim, how come cypher with his really really dire internet seems to still manage to beat low ping players much like yourself. Same goes for strenx with 100 ping at times.

You've got to accept that the netcode isn't the reason that you're losing, it's just you.

One more thing. I play people with higher ping than me sometimes when I'm on low ping and I find it incredibly easy to outshaft them or kill them as opposed to playing someone of a lower pinged nature.

It's definitely something in your head because anyone who has a brain can tell you that playing a significantly lower pinged player is 10 times harder than playing a player with a higher ping.

Or perhaps they don't trust that their shots will be corrected. There are quite a few explainations why people might think that they have to play defensive in lg fights when they have a high ping. And doing so makes you increadibly easy to get hit.

as u sad, ql's netcode is shit. So why you still playing it? There is a lot of games with better netcode: cpma, warsow, quakeworld. You have a choice, no one insists you to play only QL.

cpma is all lg.
warsow is only movement (and I don't really like the way that it plays cuz I can't really relax while hitting the keyboard all the time with movement keys)
quakeworld I don't really know / have never tried it.

But quakelive actually makes me feel a bit at home when both players pings are low (really low).

Also I know that quakelive's netcode can be fixed so damn easily that I keep wondering why they won't implement the code (which I pretty much gave them already)
