Just been told about this now and would like to agree with Draven.

This has absolutely nothing to do with CSI-QL which is an irc channel specifically set up with trusted members to look at potential cheats.

Anything done by CSI-QL will be very conclusive and professional and result in an almost certain bust, otherwise it wouldn't have been released in the first place until more evidence had been got.

I think since the zhu bust i must have had 30-40 suggestions via PM as to people who "potentially" cheat :) a lot of these are people who have been around for a long time and it all seems very unlikely. I think its good that people are at least looking now as its clear this problem isn't going away in any hurry but lets all relax a little :)

The Kazan vid is how almost everyone spams on DM14? It shows nothing dodgy. Hasn't everyone at one point or another hit perfect prediction rockets from the shard corridor into quad? Which btw, the video doesn't show him doing, it shows him trying to but not connecting with anything great, which only further proves the point of there being nothing dodgy. (edit: this part was Smoggii but the point remains the same)

As for the stuff in the RA room, give me a break, is there a shot at ANY point where you can't hear the movement of people, what else is he going to do with a rocket in that situation if not spam at corners, wait and aim for the heads of people?

I'm not saying that the duel vid does not seem odd to me, but for the TDM part ... the vids are badly made, hard to follow and too many situations mixed in in which one would see small parts of enemies without shornormals or the enemies can be heard etc.
Imo if you want to prove anything, make a video where you see things normally, then with shownormals and then with slowmotion and shownormals. To be fair, it is also a good idea to watch a demo and go like "ok, if this guy cheats then why did he do this or why did he not do this" (like on purgatory keep aiming from Q to Rail when with shownormals it's clear there is no enemy left on that position) . As it is now my 2 cents are just: odd indeed, but not enough. ImHo.

The duel video is the best evidence for smoggii cheating. For the tdm videos i agree with smuf. They should be prepared better with slow motions and shownormals on/off. This wolfcam position switching is hard to track.

It was just a quick video created by people in ek based on a couple of games, it was never intended to find its way on to ESR any time in the near future at least in the totally un-edited state it is now.

I dont know who posted it but i am sure it wasnt Ptole as he also wanted it to go to the CSI QL guys to go over further but somehow its found its way here anyway.

Well, those videos were created from demos from ek games which we had recently.

They did raise some suspicion though with "odd" stuff which happened during the matches, it was intended purely for private use and were not intended to find there way on ESR.

Though i make no appology for it, everyone knows smoggi is bent, it's just a matter of time. I will see if i can get them removed when i get home tonight.

I'm sure that's adjustable though, I mean already years and years ago in games like SoF2 (Q3 engine) the bots weren't really "humanized" yet but you could already set the "aimvecs" or whatever it was called; in other words where on the enemy the bot would aim for. If they haven't implemented that on humanized aimbots now, or even better make it a tiny bit "random" (but not completely) they're idiots, and as much as we don't like cheat coders they're not stupid.

Also my video was live cam as I played, if anyone spectated or would watch the demo nothing would look centered anymore thanks to the 64 ping and decidedly unfortunate way it works in this game.

I am glad you care about competitive players cheating, but the problem is much bigger than that now and has grown out of control. You can't just care about 3 or 4 guys cheating in leagues and ignore the rest at this point. The reason you see more esr members cheating is simply because it's become accepted and commonplace in the overall ql community. Again, this is where i come in, and you can either accept that, or troll me as others have done, but then dont' be surprised if more and more of these types of players start entering lans trying to cheat.

Ray, you keep on finding cheaters, statwhores, and tierslummers. I have nothing against that, if that entertains you. Now, do me a favor, and show me at least 5 pro players, in your opinion, who do not tierslumm.
I highly doubt that you'll find at least one pro who doesnt not tierslum in Quake Live. And show me their match history that consists of close games. Another thing, those games have to be in a pub. Because on a private server, if it's run correctly, you get close games most of the time; even with a mix of pros and average players. (Trust me, I've played, on decent private servers, with top NA CA players, and 70% of the time we had 9:9 until the last round.).

but in regards to what you said: Sure, there's top players that have played down, but most don't stay for long and even more don't realize they are on a lower tiered server (since people leave perhaps lowering the sv_skillrating).

Incubus however, HE DOES IT JUST ABOUT EVERY SINGLE CTF GAME (not so many on his normal account anymore, more on his alias': see bleed_, artanis, etc)

There's no way to defend incubus. Just go into a game and people already start talking about it. It's not news. You know it and i know it. He's undefendeable in that respect. Only question now is: When will syncerror step in to stop the demise of ctf on na servers by people like him. Answer: never, for the reasons you mentioned to me privately.

I guess we'll have to enjoy another round of tdm at next year's quakecon.

And btw, I think it's kinda obvious viRus or most of these hungarians cheat.. they've been doing it for a while and have admitted doing it when they tried to get me to join viRus during the start of my CTF'ing in quakelive.

They've had several players banned in Quake 3 under different aliases back then, and they were beating pretty much everyone before at CTF then randomly dropped again because they were suspected.

Just ask them for some of their quake 3 aliases, and whoever played Q3 - I guarantee you’ll know who they are, and that they’re cheats.
