dont get them, those who always expressed that they wanted to either play or watch more 2v2 and now that they hav/had their biggest tournament so far they let it fail completely. inactive players and a complete lack of coverage and interest...

sad about a further bad impression from quake at the esl and about the kinda wasted season, hope the playoffs will bring us some entertaining streamed matches at least :(

Its just couple of players who keep spamming..uh promoting 2v2 here on esreality. If you spam..eh..promote enough ESL will think the rest of community prefers this mod.

Problem is that it's always the same few who express their need for it. There is no existing 2v2 TDM community whatsoever.

CA, TDM (4v4) and CTF have a community behind it with teams of all skill levels playing it. 2v2 does not and is only an elitist diversion of 4v4 TDM.

You are just better of staying with the main modes and screw any kind of sub-mode. No one cares. Why would you practice a similar mode to a more popular existing one just to not play it again for the upcoming 6 to 12 months till a league/cup is stupid enough to arrange it again.

I still hope for a REAL decent CTF tournament to pop up that takes stuff seriously enough for teams to bother. I don't mention TDM, because that mode has got enough attention by now and still lacks teams that aren't completely demolished by the other. And don't say Dreamhack Winter 2011, because it's obvious that a local LAN with a good amount of prize money will attract and form more teams. After that, every one will be in cba mode again and join up mixes of teams to play once a week.

To think one of the main reasons to drop TDM was because fnatic couldn't be bothered to arrange games, and they wouldn't have been in this season anyway!

2v2 was really popular in the OSP/vq3 era, there was a time when more 2on2 cups were played than 4on4. Don't know why it's lost its fame. May be the lack of tournaments, or the blooming of 4v4. Too sad for the best quake mode. : ) Nevermind, for me still 2v2 gave the best quake memories and quakebuddies, I'm glad I played the game when the best gametype evah was on it's top. R.I.P. 2 vs 2! : )
