Tonight at 15:00 CDT sees the last match of the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 with its Grand Final on Level Up TV. Coming from the Winner Bracket, Europe Reason Gaming will face Europe Four Kings one more time for a rematch of the WB Final. But this time, the kings will need to win 2 sets to claim a victory.

The 3rd round in the playoff of the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 is starting tonight at 14:00 CDT with LB Round 3: Europe HARD vs [E] Hungary. Then the Winner Bracket Final will follow on Wednesday evening, same time: Europe [R] vs 4Kings Europe.

Last week, HARD defeated the russians from IP in the Loser Brackets after 3 close maps (vod1, vod2).

This 2nd playoff round of the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 will be played Wednesday evening at 14:00 CDT. Last week, Poland Serious Gaming 2v2 were removed after their 2nd noshow in the tournament.

This first playoff matches of the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 are starting tonight at 15:00 CDT. After a lot of teams were removed or kicked during the group stage, only 7 are left for the last part of the competition.

This week are starting the first group matches of the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2. The default date for the games is Wednesday at 15:00 CDT and there weren't any reschedule so far.

Note that Poland kox are now known as The Shadows 2v2, and Europe cherubim as Reason Gaming 2v2.

The 16 teams qualified for the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 have now been seeded. As the Group Stage will be composed of 4 groups of 4 teams, the teams have been seeded into 4 different seeding pools in order to prepare the drawing of the groups in the next days. The 4 seeding pools rank from Top to Low with High and Medium in between.

If everything goes as predicted, the groups should be ready this weekend. And the first Playday is still planned for the 21st of March. The news will be updated with the groups as soon as they're known.


Update: The groups are finally known and published! Note that the default date for the matches is Wednesday 21CET.

The last Qualifier cup for the EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 will start this Sunday at 14:30 CDT. The cup will be played on a Single Elimination brackets, with bo1 matches. The top4 teams will join the 12 pairs which already qualified for this new EMS season!


Update: The Qualifiers are now finished and the 16 teams who made it are as following:

The 4 qualification cups for the next EMS VIII Quakelive TDM 2v2 have been announced and will start with the first cup on Sunday, 20th February at 14:00 CDT. This new season will offer 1 000€ in prize money and will be played until June 2011.

As the format of the competition was changed from TDM 4v4 to TDM 2v2, the top4 teams from the previous season won't be invited. So the top4 teams from each of these qualification cups will earn a slot for the Group Stage.

The eighth season of the ESL Major Series is coming soon! And as the game type will be TDM 2v2 instead of 4v4 in the previous season, we will be running two cups this week to have a taste of 2 rather new 2v2 maps: Hidden Fortress and Devilish!

The first cup will be played on Wednesday 9th of February starting at 15:00 CDT and will use Hidden Fortress. The second cup on Sunday 13th at 14:00 CDT will use Devilish. The format will be Double Elimination brackets with best-of-1 matches with 16 teams. The number of teams could be increased depending of the amount of sign-ups.

ESL Major Series Season8 with QL 2v2 TDM (74 comments)

The esl2 ESL announced the titles for the 8th Season of the ESL Major Series. qlQuake Live is back in, but with a surprise nevertheless, the mode is 2v2 TDM with a prizemoney of 1 000€.


Details about the Qualifiers are will be announced soon, together with the prize money breakdown. Also there will be a "a special announcement but we cannot give away too much details for now".
