We were sat streaming a mix team of toxjq, krysa, Juven1le and ZeRoQL vs Reason last night. 4 matches, they won all of them and Toxjq was arguably MVP on all maps. He's got the most epic robotic aim and was hitting 50% shaft consistently on realm of steel rats at like half way through the map

allows you to use more normal values to get the divided pitch and yaw ratio you want for example

CZM's m_yaw 0,021 m_pitch -0.014 = 3/2

or noctis's m_yaw 0.020 m_pitch 0.022 = 1/1.1

I guess the - means it's inverted or whatever and the different values are if he finds it harder to move the mouse up/down or left/right or something.

Never been a fan of messing around with that stuff myself to be honest. Always just used 0.022 and no accel but then who am I to argue if Toxjq finds it better to change those settings...

i can understand changing the values if you want to change the x/y ratio but what i'm actually asking why don't they let on of the commands stay at 0.022 and change just the other one accordingly to get the right ratio?

Well the first reason to change m_yaw and not the sense is if you want to move with a quicker speed on the y-axis while you have a slower one on the x-axis. The second one is that sens itself doesn't influence the accel value but m_yaw does. So if you got the same basesens with different m_yaw/sens values you also got a different accel feeling. I might be wrong but I tested it myself ingame and with phoon.us/mouse.

yaw/pitch affects accel and sens, sens only... sens. main reason is having an even number though imo.

yup, you find the sens you like, then fuck around with yaw/pitch until you land on something close to it that's an even number.
Helps leaving stuff untouched instead of having sens 3.216 and accel 0.0819 that screams for a tweak.

actually found another way for me personally... i still do sens/accel in 400dpi terms and add a little math to play on 900.

you think he will own top QL players who have been playing the game from the beginning? he would have to go cooller mode, 10 hours/day (all day practically), and there are still good old maps like ztn aero and t4 -he played q3 too kinda, but was not able to own top q3 players at the time, because their experience on the maps at the best
I don't see him beating top QL players in the next few months, maybe in a year or two, but then I don't see him going cooller mode for a few years just for the sake of it (his psychological profile talks abt a quite equilibrate person)

Rapha is undoubtedly the smartest quake player ever in quake 3 till now.

With that said, it will be very fun to spec toxjq vs rapha. Rapha trying to control such a scary aim beast is what i love watching. This is why i love seeing cypher vs rapha finals. Toxjq will approch differently though. Instead of ambushes with rockets that rapha can win, he will just walk around out in the open waiting for any fight.

Rail fight... lg fight.. rocket fight.. mg fight fucking anything. The phrase 'COME AT ME BRO' is the style toxjq uses.

Seriously. Stermy has it right when playing rapha, do what you do, without making a mistake. Get the lead and wait for rapha to come at you.

Stermys aim helps him a lot with that too, so that is why he can take rapha down. Toxjq > stermy in all aims and i believe brain too, since he takes down cypher/cooller/av3k regularly.

So rapha vs toxjq both at their best, will be one fucking hell of a sight. !

jamalz, entertaining posts, but 99% of the time you really don't know what you're talking about and just make some crazy claims.

first off, toxjq is probably not going to have enough experience by Dreamhack to do anything. second, his aim is not better than that of cypher, strenx, or even avekkk and cooller. People are just hyping up toxjq because they get bored of wacking off to cooller all the time.

Toxjq isn't going to beat any of the current top 5 or so - rapha, cooller, strenx, avekkk, cypher. I'll give him chances against k1llsen, spartie, dahang, and stermy, but he'll be at a huge disadvantage with the little to no experience he has.

Toxjq has aim on par with cypher / strenx, but that does not mean he will win with them (or even against players with worse aim).

No he is hyped up because he dominated the duel scene in q4, against the same players that is top players now. And hes aim is better then coollers, just take a look at any demo from him and compare.. i aint sure hes aim is better then cyphers though, but certainly not worse.

I think people are overrating his aim in regards to the impact it will do in dueling. Sure, you can get far with world class aim, but aim is just one of the important aspects of dueling. The good players will neglect it with good positioning, better decision making or/and item control. Strenx still isn't winning LAN events even though his aim is on par with toxjq's (he has improved other aspects lately) - unlike rapha who's aim isn't as good but he still manages to win event after event.

I guess you could argue that toxjq already did this in Q4, but that's another story. He's got some catching up to do in regards to map and opponent knowledge and I'm not convinced he'll place that good on his very first try without some experience from a QL dueling LAN event. If he keeps playing/attending events he could definately challange some top players.

My guess is that he'll be focusing on the TDM tournament and play some duel for fun. Anyhow, looking forward to DH/Summer :-)

Like 2 months ago he was practicing with cypher/av3k/cooller/ and raping them on the normal map pools(even t7 that is new). So he isn't rusted in duel, he has the knowledge and knows how to play quakelive duel fine. But he just didn't want to i guess.


He said quakelive need all new maps. Dreamhack has all 'new' maps except lost world. Which is why he might play the duel there.

And don't compare toxjq to strenx. Strenx can hit some nice rails and lg fantastic. Toxjq hits everything with every gun. All guns in his hands becomes bazookas ready to blow niggas away.
