I use one, not sure i like it, i had a mrk1 this mrk2 doesnt feel the same, either the sensor or feet, also cba to change cord as they now have the screws under the feet

I filled down the side on my mx500got used to it on later versions, had a mx510 and a g5 also

The only thing I hate about Logitech mice is they always seem to be geared towards people that use their ring finger on the right mouse button. I use 2 fingers so that ledge always pissed me off and cba to sand shit on a mouse (although now I think about it, I don't use it and it's getting dusty behind some books, so I might butcher it for a laugh)

Yes that ring finger is pretty gay by logitech. I didnt file down with sand paper. I had an attachment to drill and I filed it down in about 10 min coz I have to check if its fit my prefrance.

not really

All usb mouse cords are same connector in the end.
Just they have different combination so what you do that turn connector around and take off the colors which you want to switch and put them back and its as easy. You just need very small size screwdriver to unlock the pins which are attached to color wires.

You need to match color codes on your usb connector. Lift plastic which is locks the pins in connector. Here is picture. Lift that plastic which I marked with yellow color.

Then pins will come out and then you put them back in order of Mx518 color codes of usb connector.

I should have never discontinued to use the MX518. After going through several MX500, one 510, and 518 v1, I was receiving a G5 and aG500 as replacement... and that didntīs satisfy me, then I got a SteelSeries Xai, which is a good mouse, but... I didnīt feel comfortable at all lately.

So I buyed yesterday a MX518 (v2 - 1800 dpi edition), and the feeling is back. Itīs a different type of handling... Gaming is fun again :D <3 MX5xx !

Ever tried the EC? Sensor feels very similar and you get a much lower LOD. And 1000hz out of the box.

EC2 has shit tracking! Mx518 feels more natural.

Havenīt tried it yet, but whenever I tried something different than the MX5xx ... like the Razer Diamondback or IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, the different shape the mouse, required a different handling and I was not feeling comfortabel. I was most successful and most confident with the MX5xx series, due to the way I use it, so I wouldnīt want to spent some more money on alternatives. The price tag atm for a new Zowie EC2 is around 50 Euro... I only paid 30 Euro for the MX518, I know I paid a bit more than elsewhere, but, I knew also, that this mouse is a definitely working choice for me, despite the cable problems I had back in the days.

Like I said initially, I took the mouse out of the box, connected it, owned with it :D

*edit*: I do not benefit from a lower lift off distance (LOD), than something the MX5xx series offered for years, but the low LOD which my previous Xai offered... wasnīt good for me, since I hold the mouse in certain game situations beveled and want some amount of LOD. I read somewhere that the Zowie EC2 has a very low LOD of only 1,5 millimeters. I wonder if thatīs lower than the LOD of the MX518, or how the LOD of the MX5xx series mice are actually?

AFAIK the MX518 has a pretty high LOD. I don't know if there's a difference between the old model and the new one (with 1800 DPI), but I doubt that. Should be around 3-5mm from my experience, depending on the pad.
