This one is a little bit changed, it has mh placed where ya was before, and ya is somewhere else.

the item layout is the same on almost every duel map now, ztn, dm13, aero, t7 and this battleforged thingy:
2 ya, 1 ra and 1 mh

the only difference is dm13 which has no rail and aerowalk with only 1 yellow and 1 green..

2 greens on aerowalk lol

Although it's cool to have different 'styles' of map, I think 1 mh 1 ra 2 ya's is a sweet spot that lets the loosing player still have enough armour and a chance to fight back. If you take too much away it gets a bit aim heavy for my taste.

i like em both but i was a phrantic fanboy in q4 and dismem is new to me and i like the flow of it.

I honestly can't say which one is better though.. I guess dismem just because there's a rail on phrantic now :<

Phantic is kinda crap in QL. Easy to force spawns. Rail is a bit meh. Powerups and movement around maps are meh

Dismemberment is better but not exactly a ton better

Hektik is a fair bit of fun though. Needs a few tweaks but it could easily be the best out of the new maps

I would like to see all three of these maps in rotation: Phrantic, Hektik and Dismemberment.

Granted Hektik is the only "new" map, but Dismemberment and Phrantic are new enough to replace shit maps like Lost World.

No. I hardly play at all. Every now and then I'll find a free weekend to play online for extended periods. Nothing regular.

As a former quakeworld player, I strongly prefer phrantic because it is a smaller map with a faster feel to it. Dismemberment feels too large to me, similar to the way battleforged and tourney6 do.

It's fully possible that phrantic between strong players isn't quite so viable though. Seems like you have to incur quite a positional disadvantage to get the red, and with the teleporter and some rocket jumps you can get really have a presence all over the map. I'm not sure though, I've never seen a ql game on it between strong players who have enough experience on the map.

balance aside, do people have FUN playing on phrantic? ive played it and enjoyed it quite a bit. the direction of attempting to eliminate an imbalanced map for an uninteresting one seems to be a really terrible idea.

a phrantic hektik aerowalk x x map pool would be fun. or we could just use larger map pools..


what shouldnt happen is have maps like dm13(and with certain players on ztn) that are so boring to watch that you try to find other shit to do while just running the stream in background. fuck balance until the game is fun to play and watch.

ztn, dm6 and dm13 still generate the best games, thats just the FACT. Aero is good though

yeah man dm13 is really fun to play and watch those 2 frag games sure are exciting! shooting those chokes while controlling mid sure is fun to watch!

dm13 may work in the game well, but that doesn't mean it plays or specs fun. no one I know can even spec a dm13 match unless its top top players, and it isn't for the map itself but for the overall result. the map is way too slow relative to other maps and certain idiots on esr will probably once again ruin a chance at an interesting map pool(even though they complained 2 months ago about wanting new maps) because they are attached to maps they played 10 years ago and are unwilling to get good at new ones.

Hektik and Dismemberment BOTH need to be added into rotation in some of these online tournaments. Lets give 'em all a shot.

give us good new maps and we will play them, but give shitty new ones like battleforged and hektik and no one will play them...

Hektik is way too open to be a good duel map, Battleforged has the problem of being too big and slow on movement.

dm13 is awesome to spectate.

havent played either enough but dismemberment seems like it could have a lot more strategy and 'depth' than phrantic simply because of size. we dont want another t9
