Seriously there's never been a real fix?

Why would MS not address this. Does anyone else have a wmo who doesn't have this issue?

My WMO registers mouse3 (sometimes 2) whenever I drop it hard after repositioning it. But since I have m3 bound to smiley spam it's not really a problem.

to the op, yeah i have the same problem. i just unbound it :/

yeah I lift it up way too high. it's a habit I got after playing with a DA for a year.

for mwheeldown:
seta wdownlock "vstr wdownreset;bind MWHEELDOWN <your bind>"
seta wdownreset "bind MWHEELDOWN vstr wdownlock"
+add "vstr wdownreset" to your other weapon binds
this way you have to scroll 2 times to change weapon, wich isn't that hard, and weapon shouldn't change by themselves :)
btw it's not mine solution, found it here on esr some time ago

back at parents I used to drop out during clanwars because my 768kbit/s connection couldn't handle the smiley spam...

i frequently get "STUPID FUCKING POLE DIE IN A FIRE SUCKER" on pubs because of my cute little smiley bind :(/

Man, I miss proper smiley spam so much, there's just no reward in QL when you have that delay on it :(

Open mouse and look at the wheel assembly.

To the left of the wheel will be a plastic bracket with a notch in the middle.

Bend the bracket further to the left, so that the notch doesnt reach the cutouts in the wheel cylinder. Use a spacer to secure it in that position.


Or simply file down or cut away this notch for a really permanent solution.

There's no bearings like logimice you know.

I havn't had the scroll problem yet. Though I feel the buttons are too sensitive, alot of the times I lift my mouse up and put it down again while playing I press the first, second or both buttons even though I don't want to. =/

Because the mouse wheel is such ass it sometimes rests between presses(?) and rolls forward on its own. Atleast that's what kept happening to mine until I unbound it entirely.
