I must say, I find it rather contradictory that one of the founding members of the G7 (SK), whose sole goal was to boycott and put the CPL out of business for not paying their players now has their website plugging the CPL's latest update.

Anyone else notice the inconsistancy here?

SK's CS/Quake team might not support CPL, but their News division would still want to report it.

You misunderstand, aside from what Gillz said, that the press generally doesn't desire to be biased towards or against any single entity. With that said, I say there's no problem posting this news, although there would be if they sent their teams to it.

SK-gaming is at its base a professional team that runs a website to build and support a community in of itself. SK-gaming is also a founding member of an organization that boycotted a single entity known as the CPL.

I think you've overlooked the fact that SK-Gaming's journalistic unit is separate from its gaming unit. With that said, this is an example of freedom of the press -- Carmac wants to report on the CPL, which is still viewed negatively by SK afaik, in order to fulfill his duty of informing the people rather than promoting the league. I think, as long as that's his intention, this is perfectly fine, especially since there are no implications that SK is glorifying the "new" CPL.

Well, if the CPL in fact was not paying their players for the prize money legitimately won. Why SHOULDN'T there be a boycott? IMO CPL just had too many loopholes in "tax forms" and probably hardly any oversight just like America has had in the past 8 years. When tournament organizers don't pay the players that won the cash prizes then they shouldn't hold cash tournaments or prize tournaments. SK-Gaming may be a part of the G7 and I'm not saying I agree completely with a "union" for gamers since there is such a minority of professional gamers. What regulation do they have in the first place besides influence to aspiring, mid-tier, and high level players. It would be interesting to see some oversight and regulation in esports which is needed in order for this to continue.
