Adam "SyncError" Pyle posted a Quake Champions 1.31 PTS changelog in the official Quake Discord on 7 September. It is marked DEVELOPMENT IN PROGRESS - NOT FINAL. The build is not on the Steam PTS client yet.
Today's PTS update reflects our first step towards removing paid Battle Passes and microtransactions in favor of making the champions and vanity content unlocked for everyone.
Listed for removal: Battle Pass, Weekly and Event Challenges, the Store, Platinum and Shard, loot boxes, daily login rewards, Champion Progression shard rewards. Almost all vanity unlocks for everyone. Promo exclusives stay with current owners (AMD Ruby Nyx, Twitch Rocket Launcher, Nvidia Pulsar Railgun). QuakeCon belts and Golden Crowns stay merit-only.
Asked how you rename once the Store is gone:
Change it now if you're interested.
No replacement rename system is announced. Rename tokens are a Store purchase today.
Also in the notes: leveling to 999, kick votes, bot and net/input work, an Adaptive FPS Stabilizer, and QCON 2026 skins for the starting Machinegun, Shotgun, and Nailgun.
He is on a four-week window to finish 1.31.

They want to cut everything related to store so they can charge for a game that was free, just like QL.
