riders on the storm... =P

I am back and still in one peace. Luckily no sharkie attacks this year! Well it was awesome being away on holiday again.
The park we stayed in was in a awesome condition, considering they had to remove 30 tons of sand and fix a lot of things in a short period of time.

After packing all my stuff, last minute as usual we set out with two cars, just as the sun was coming in over the Stellenbosch mountains. Driving through some of the most beautiful places in South Africa made me realize again how damn lucky I am to be in the position I am.
If anyone of you ever intend to visit South Africa, hire a car and drive the cape garden route. The South to east coast Knysna area is absolutely awesome. Beautiful scenery, perfect roads endless beaches.
Small pic out of car, on our way to Glentana

After setting up it was finally time to relax...
A quick visit to a local shopping mall, me and my bro got ourselves some el`cheapo fishing rods, bait etc. Now we where set. We paid a quick visit to the beach to test out our new equipment and with my very first cast I landed about a 80cm Sand Shark. My luck was depleted thereafter. After losing countless sinkers, and people around me pulling out some big ones I gave up and turned to body surfing.
Probably the most unpredictable beach ive been to. One day you can walk in on a sandbank for a hundred meters, the next you will struggle to get past 10 meters of water.
While not really a surfing/bodyboarding spot, the waves are excellent for body surfing even tho it can be scary taking a 10ft dumper :P
Being a bit concerned about sharks before leaving, as soon as my toes touched the water all fears where forgotten and focus was on catching the next best wave. The beach was only closed 3 times, due to the sharks getting to close to the swimming area. Helicopters make a pass over the beaches about once every hour or two to check for sharks and people that could be in trouble at unwatched areas. From what ive heard, sharks are in huge numbers behind the last set waves at any given time at that area. Its only when they breach that area, the lifeguards on the beach is signaled to call everyone out and close it till further notice.

Anyway me and my bro managed to spend a bit of much needed time together.
