why no regular playstation joysticks? must be alot harder to play with these arcade ones?

no, to be honest, its easier!

Yeah. They're more stationary, no moving around like the small handcontrollers from consoles do. The main reason fighting games are more fun and better to play on a machine than at home on a console =)
