Euro hockey is pretty boring... Huge ice and little contact.. more like soccer than hockey =/

NHL is a bit better but it too has a ton of problems in this day and age.

The best on ice product I've seen has been in World Junior and Olympic competitions held on North American ice surfaces. The entertainment is phenomenal. Lately it seems the IIHF is more open to holding tournaments on NA size ice surfaces which is great imo but I think next olympics is in Russia :(

Still the best sport to play tho, I have many fond memories at the rink.

NHL is awesome, you just have to not waste time on the regular season except for the odd marquee matchup. Stanley cup playoffs are great every year as long you pick a series which is gonna be closely matched and watch it all the way through. Canucks-Blackhawks has been a thing of beauty the last three seasons.

Tho obviously compared to yesteryear it's not as fun for the spectator. The scoring of the 80s is never coming back, that's pretty much for sure. I think NHL suffers from the same problem as most other spots though which imo is player transfers. So a guy who is on a good team goes to a not so good team for more money when he plays well in a contract year.

It was much more fun in the NHL and NBA in the 80s when each squad was pretty set at the top for a long stretch of time imo, meant rivalries really became intense and interesting. It's hard to care about rivalries in the same way when hossa can play for three different elite teams in three seasons :P

Agreed that regular seasons suck , especially NBA's long-ass one.

yeah, World Juniors, Olympics, All farm teams are pretty fun too. College can be pretty good depending on who you are watching.
