Division 1

Clan: Russia Deliberate Murder
Team leader: Russia cooke

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
Cooke: Well, PAVEL and Latrommi are from the old 102 team, they won Prague TDM LAN and were second on QuakeCon 2015 TDM. Cas joined our team not so long ago - he played last HoQ TDM season for 102, but wasn't a part of a team before. But even tho, I believe most of Quake Live players know him as one of the best TDM-fighters. And since coolleR doesn't want to spent his time playing Quake Live (Overwatch, Overwatch, Overwatch), the guys decided to pick Kenny as the 4th player. He used to be the captain of Ukrainian Quake Live team, but he lives in Crimea, so he is Russian now :)

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
Cooke: Not really :( Let's be honest: Quake is not our "job" anymore, it doesn't bring any money. It's just a hobby. We love that game, so we want to play it, but we don't have time to practice as much, as we did before Prague LAN or QuakeCon. The guys play Quake, but there are no "special" TDM pracs. No time! :(

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
Cooke: No complaints, everything is cool.

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is the big dicks. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
Cooke: No offense to Hungary, but is 102 will play their 100%, Hungary won't have any chances. Of course, I've got some worries about Kenny, since he never played in our team on pro-cup. But if everything will be alright with him, I think the league final will be 102 vs "deal with it". REKT are going to take the 3rd place. But all the games are going to be close!

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
Cooke: Well, I already said that top3 are 102, REKT and deal. But I can't say who will be the best one, who will take 2nd or 3rd place.

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
Cooke: Well... The good thing about 102 is that we have sense of purpose. We don't give a damn if it's Moscow or Prague LAN, QuakeCon or Dreamhack, House of Quake or Clanbase. We always trying our best! But the bad thing is that if one wants to make God laugh, he should tell him about his plans :) We will try to win the cup, but who knows what will happen... But anyway, it's a CUP, not just some insignificant crap that you play when you are bored. So we want to be Number One.

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
Cooke: Yeah, got some. As for me personal, I'd like to give all the respect to PAVEL - the guy, who convinced other guys that 102 should play that league. And another shoutout: play more Quake! :D

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!

Clan: Europe deal with it
Team leader: Netherlands Silencep

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
Silencep: Our team is named deal with it, the members are clawz, phoenix, spartie, and I. We are all verry experienced quake players and based on our last hoq cup results we are motivated to take the next one to.

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
No.

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
Silencep: I only like purgatory, i dont think the other maps are good.

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is the big dicks. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
Silencep: They are all great players but i think they lack the experience in tdm, so i think the odds will be 99% to 1%.

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
Silencep: 102 is always a heavy favorite they have really good teamplay and good understanding of the game(but without cooller i think they will be weaker this season), rekt can also be dangerous when they are all "on" but since we come out of last season with our confidence boosted i'm sure we can make the best of it.

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
Silencep: After the amazing revelation we had with gohann on our side, we would like to try and reduce it. Therefor our goal for this season is set to be not bottom of the league in his honor.

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
Silencep: We would like to honor all the boys but especially the girls of the deal clan for their loyalty and support and to all the admins of HoQ for hosting this tournament. Also thanks to all the donators for their generosity.

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!

Clan: Europe the big dicks
Team leader: Portugal ins

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
Ins: Hello world. Our team is "the big dicks" (in homage to Xron). Players so far (!) are Xron, Luminus and Me. The lineup when it was formed consisted of pecka, drki, scarecrow, d1z and me, but most of the team decided NOT to play since they weren't placed in Div2. Still haven't talked to scarecrow who's the most experienced player in the team, and the best as well if he can regain half the form he had back when he was playing for frontline with Cooller and the rest. Luminus is a german Master Guardian CS:GO player, don't know what to expect from him. Xron has a lot of experience with Rail gun and I'm... short.

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
Ins: Yes, Luminus nerds #tdmpickup and CS:GO MM a lot. Xron's samurai/viking/wizard hybrid in Dark Souls is completely ready for the action too.

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
Ins: I.. Does it have Campgrounds? If not, then it's terrible and should be reevaluated.

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is deal with it. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
Ins: I think we're going to be dealth with, quite easily, hopefully we'll have 4 by the time the game happens or we'll start it off with a defloss :(

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
Ins: Either deal with it or 102, that game will decide the victor for sure, will be an interesting one to see, considering most of 102 haven't really been playing quake and the folks at deal with it don't do anything besides nerd quake all day. Hoping funnyb streams that one and gets someone like vor to cast with him :O)

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
Ins: We... Uh.... Yes.

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
Ins: jag alskar funnyb <3

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!

Clan: Hungary Team Hungary
Team leader:Hungary dash

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
dash: Each player in my team is very experienced. Everyone playing since the 1.32 point release (2002), most of us since the beta release (1999). The avarage age in the team is over 30, so we are kinda rusty, and retired if I can say that, but we'll try our best : ). I played a lot in HoQ, q3 and q4 as well. We finished mostly in top 3 with aCtion Ligan, also won a season back then, when QL was more active.

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
dash: We haven't played with this lineup yet. Gandhi went inactive, so Wood'll switch him, but the communication can't be a problem I hope. Wood, Eteto, Kroy & me are playing pickups from time to time, s7ry and feeder play some CTF for a while, so individually our aim isn't rubbish, but together as a team we haven't played for years, so our map knowledge and teamplay is pathetic at the moment. Feeder (who I consider the most potential player in my team) is the most inactive in TDM as well, which is sad, but since everyone stopped caring about Quake, and I doubt that anyone is willing to practice, I don't see our unpreparing as a big issue.

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
dash: I like it. It's a good mixture of tactical, aimwise, old and new maps. For e.g. dm20 and dm14 are completely different maps, but in my oppinion every tournament should include those two, because they support completely different playstyles, which can serve good the spectators and games as well.

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is Deliberate Murder. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
dash: They have a slightly worse lineup than their original, but even without Cooller they could be the favorite of the season. I like their playstyle, because I consider them as the most tacticalwise team in the scene. I prefer national teams, because their comms & teamplay could dominant over aim. We are clearly the underdog in this match. I would've prefered another opponent for the first round, since first games together are even more bumpy with a new lineup, but you know... let come what may, hell or high water : )

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
dash: I think "deal with it" is the favorite, because individually they are the strongest 4, and besides 102 none of the teams are shaked enough together, to win with teamplay over aim.

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
dash: Just to have some fun together and play all the games, even if we finish last, and not let this league drown in defwins/losses.

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
dash: Do the dk!

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!

Clan: Europe REKT
Team leader: Estonia rehepapp

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
rehepapp: For this season we have me, lars (brescia), ash, gienon, h8m3 and lord khan. I think most of us have at least ten, if not more, years of experience. A decade sounds impressive, but considering that some of us learned how the spawn systems in TDM and duel work only this week, it doesn't really say much.
We originally made REKT* as an e-sports spoof during a two week long instagib fad we had in 2014. The original name was GIB* and we actually had/have a facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Gibstars-276392872547212/) which hasn't been update in years.
This is our fourth season in HoQ TDM. We won the first season in Div 2 with a different lineup mainly because we misjudged our skill level and got misplaced into a wrong division. Not really proud of that one.
In our second season lars and gienon joined so it became a love child of Lemmings Effect and Lowfly. We had a decent run against the Quakecon teams, and by the end we only needed one more win to win the whole league and to earn the eternal bragging and shit-talking rights. Of course half of our team decided not to show up for the game that was supposed to be the easiest, so we finished 3rd. Proffesionalism at its best.
Last season everyone suddenly figured they are low-sens-faggot-duelers and practiced only for 125fps and the results mirrored our shape. I wanted the bungee anyways.

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
rehepapp: We had exactly one PCW with drunk khan, lars who hadn't played for 4 months, today-I'm-cripple-in-fights gienon and I-played-a-pickup-put-me-on-a-suicide-watch me. Other than that we just play couple pickups here and there to not forget how many megas there are on the maps. It's hard to get practice games with the frequency and on the level we would really want at the current state of the scene.

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
rehepapp: As far as a 7 map pool goes I think it is as good as it can be. I know gienon will be pissing from joy over Hidden Fortress.

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is Dimension 4. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
rehepapp: I think we have a little bit better understanding of teamplay and we can make better calls faster. If we show up on the server and in game we should win. I don't expect it to be a walkover because they have some decent skill there, and the less active people are the more tears, rage, and WTF-moments can snowball into a loss.

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
rehepapp: I suppose on paper it's between us, deal and 102. None of these teams have played since last season so I have no idea what kind of shapes or forms they are in. I suppose deal players are always in shape and their game-styles doesn't really rely on being in a "TDM form" so they might have the slight edge. Depends on the servers also I suppose.

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
rehepapp: We have the potential and quality to beat anyone so we aim for the first place, but probably wont be sweating too much about it. Getting 3rd seems to be a pattern for us.

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
rehepapp: Khan is the best player in EU, I shit you not.
Also, MG is a terrible-terrible starting weapon. We have better weapons in the game for that job.

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!

Clan: Europe Pacmen / Dimension 4
Team leader: Poland gog / France un4x

viaIImaximus: Hello! Would you be so kind to introduce your team to us (who the players are, what their/your experience is in Quake and the HoQ league)?
gog: Long story short: basically our team is a mix between dioxide and the pacmens. In the previous season, the pacmens had only 3 active players, and I was trying to bring back some people from old dx lineup aswell. So un4x and I deicided that the best way to solve his and mine lineup problems is to simply merge our clans together. And since we've been friends from some period of time it wasn't that hard :) That's how Pacmen Oxide (...o2 has been created and won div2 in the previous season of HoQ. Sadly, for this season most of our old players can't play at all. We didn't want to participate in this season at all, because of lack of active players and lack of motivation: Dance just became a father, Zulu4, Zenith and Randall have no time to play because of real life responsibilities. That's why we had to recruit some brand new players like Antonio_by Noobakillah and Otto. Also we discovered that since only 1 player who's from orginal dx lineup was me and 2-3 players were from the pacmens, we've deicided to change name to Dimension 4, mainly only for this season. Future will show if we'll stick to this new name or rename again to the Pacmens.
Un4x, me and the greatest majority of our (including active and inactive players) playing competitively Quake since beggining of Quake 3 or even Q3 test.

viaIImaximus: Did you prepare for the HoQ TDM Spring 2016 season? Did you practice?
gog: Not really. We played maybe 3 or 4 maps TOTAL with 4 of our players. And Otto joined just yesterday to our team. So it's obvious that we are not prepared like we was for the previous season. Lineup changes is our biggest problem. Every season we have different players, because our 'old guys' can't play as much as they used to in the past. When other teams playing mainly with pretty much the same people from season to season, on the same time we don't. Unfortunately, we do not have such luxury.

viaIImaximus: What do you think of the map pool?
gog: It's ok. It has some braindead maps like dm20 and some more strategic-ones like dm14. Everyone will find something that will suit his gamestyle :)

viaIImaximus: Your first opponent is REKT. What do you think of them? Who do you think has a better chance of winning?
gog: Of course Rekt. Maybe we'll have more chances to win this match if we'd do some solid trainings to get used to play together with our new players. Yet, we didn't play even a single PCW with a lineup that will be playing on the upcoming match against Rekt. But we will try our best :)

viaIImaximus: Now that the groups have been released, who do you think the favorite is in your division?
gog: 102, deal and rekt will end up in top3. I think that deal will win the entire division, since 102 has a lot weaker lineup this season than usual.

viaIImaximus: What are your team's ambitions for this tournament?
gog: We don't have any ambitions. As I said on the beggining, we didn't want to participate at all, especially without our old players. We've signed up only for the love for TDM and Quake :)

viaIImaximus: Anything else that you would like to add i.e. shoutouts?
gog: Remember: play more TDM and CA is not Quake!

viaIImaximus: Good luck in the tournament!
