Could you first please introduce yourself and your Quake background.

Czech Republic Krysa: My name is Kryštof Černý, I'm 22 years old. Currently studying economics at Charles University in Prague. I started playing quake 3 in 2003 and soon I fell into it. When I first joined an oldschool clan called Satan's Proxies where I also first met with Jocko (I guess it was in 2004) I began to recognize that TDM would be my favourite mode of all. Although I like duel as well I never enjoyed it as much as TDM. I always tried to train seriously before upcomming 1v1 events but never really got into it. I guess I lack the talent for 1v1.

Congratulations, you have been crowned MVP of this Eurocup. Did you expect to win?

Czech Republic Krysa: Thank you, I didn't really know about that poll until someone showed me and I was already in the lead. It pleased me of course =).

You did not participate in the vote, but who would you have voted for? How often do you visit ESR?

Czech Republic Krysa: I would vote for Purri who definitely stepped XT's game up big time and Zik although he hadn't been nominated. He made a very good job in the finals game and without his good performance we might not have won.

How active have you been during the Eurocup and how active has 4K been? Are you still eager to compete?

Czech Republic Krysa: Although maybe some people think that we pracc 24/7, it's not much of a true lately. We've been very inactive concerning practice matches. Nevertheless we still try to play our best in the official matches despite the lack of pracc.

At the day of the finals your opponent was decided just before the actual match, between METSU (now Rage Gaming) and alpha, who did you want to play against?

Czech Republic Krysa: We definitely wanted to play against alpha. We have had only bad experience in our official matches vs metsu so far crowned by the last game in EMS lost by 1 frag.

In the Eurocup you only dropped maps to alpha, but in the EMS 7 Playoffs you are already out. How did this happen?

Czech Republic Krysa: As I said before we lack the practice but i have to say fnatic is a strong team. I guess we had a bad day, we were unable to get our teamplay organized in the match against them.

he EMS Season 8 will feature 2v2 TDM instead, what do you think about that change?

Czech Republic Krysa: I kind of like this move. There haven't been many 2v2 tournaments lately and I'm glad EsL admins decided to make some room for this mode as well. I guess we will see many good matches.

Has 4K recieved any prize money from the ESL yet?

Czech Republic Krysa: Not yet. They still owe us money from EMS V.

Are you excied about the current ESH Full Tilt Poker Tournament, the possible Dreamhack LAN and the Nationscup?

Czech Republic Krysa: Of course, the more attention to TDM the better. I really cheer for TDM tournament at Dreamhack. Imagine the epic matches and of course the after party ^^.

Are you happy with the current state of TDM in QL?

Czech Republic Krysa: Not quite, I still wish more people were playing although the TDM starts to rise again thanks to the ongoing and upcomming events. Also #tdmpickup is quite alive.

What are your thoughts on the mappool?

Czech Republic Krysa: The current mappools contain the best suited maps. Dreadful and Purgatory are new and I quite like them, but im really looking for the next season if the admins would add Tornado and some upcomming maps from Focus. Still I would prefer a 5 map system with maps rotating every season. There are many good maps for TDM and the new maps tend to be eliminated.

From time to time you showed some good results in Duel, but you never seemed to focus on it, why?

Czech Republic Krysa: I just love TDM :) I don't know why but in times when I focus on TDM I can't play duels and TDM is my priority.

Thanks for the Interview!
